NYC: MAUREEN McGOVERN WITH "DANGLING CONVERSATIONS"
CLOSING NIGHT - FINAL SHOW OF SERIES

BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) is pleased to welcome Grammy Award-nominated singer Maureen McGovern in an exclusive one-week engagement Tuesday through Saturday, November 8th through 12th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Celebrating the second half of the Great American Songbook, Ms. McGovern will present "Dangling Conversations," an intimate evening of classic songs by iconic singer/songwriters including Paul Simon, J. D Souther, Joni Mitchell, Don Henley, Laura Nyro, Bruce Springstein, Jimmy Webb and Pete Seeger - including "Help Me," "The Dangling Conversation," "Faithless Love," "An American Tune," "Time and Love," "Turn, Turn, Turn," and many more. Ms. McGovern will be accompanied on piano by her musical director Jeffrey Harris and on bass by Jay Leonhart. This engagement is arranged by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta. Often called "The Stradivarius Voice," Maureen McGovern has been thrilling audiences on world-wide concert stages, on Broadway and on recordings throughout a career that has spanned over 40 years. Maureen has performed in extensive cross-country tours with jazz greats Mel Torme, Mercer Ellington & The Duke Ellington Orchestra and John Pizzarelli. She has recorded with Gary Burton, Dori Caymmi, Chick Corea, Terry Trotter, Mike Renzi and jazz bassist/ singer/ songwriter, Jay Leonhart. She appeared with Buddy Rich, Dame Cle Laine, John Dankworth and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra for a tribute to her mentor, Mel Torme, at The Hollywood Bowl.There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
