TODAY IN NYC: AROUND THE WORLD IN A BAD MOOD RETURNS - LAST SHOW OF SERIES TONIGHT
Now in its 12th Year, the hit comedy musical revue Around the World in a Bad Mood returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438) on Fridays, October 1st at 7:00 pm. The show was written by Rene Foss with original music by Michael McFrederick (who also musical directs). The cast includes Hector Coris, Rene Foss, and Rachael Lee. Real-life flight attendant Rene Foss details her adventures in the not-so-friendly skies through songs and sketches that even the most infrequent fliers will find all-too-familiar. From shady job interviews, in-flight in-fights, rousing safety demonstrations to the "secret language" of flight attendants and greedy corporate airline lawyers, you'll get a first-class seat to one of the best take-offs in NYC. Around the World in a Bad Mood premiered at Rose's Turn in NYC in September 1998. It has since been performed as an ensemble musical comedy across the U.S. and Canada as well as a one-woman version of the show (performed by Ms. Foss) which continues to tour the country. In 2002, Hyperion Books published a book version of Ms. Foss' show under the same title. The book has sold over 50,000 copies and has been translated into three languages. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
