S.F.: DAME CLEO LANE RETURNS TO CABARET AND THE RRAZZ ROOM THROUGH OCTOBER 24th
The legendary Dame Cleo Laine embarks on her first tour since the passing of her husband, Sir John Dankworth, performing atRRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) Tuesday through Sunday, October 19th through 24th at 8:00 pm (4:00 pm on Sunday). Spontaneity is the catchword for Miss Laine's choice of repertoire, but her programs always include substantial representation from the great Broadway composers, almost inevitably including the work of the great George Gershwin. From the world of jazz, Ms. Laine frequently pays tribute to the unforgettable music of Duke Ellington. Of course, no Cleo Laine program would be complete without a sprinkling of her famous Shakespeare settings, some of them by her late husband Sir John Dankworth. Ms. Laine is thrilled to return to San Francisco to once again delight her fans with warm memories from a passing age in music and an iconic voice that has moved generations. There is a $42.50-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
