L.A.: ANDREA MARCOVICCI'S HISTORY OF THE TORCH SONG
Andrea Marcovicci's latest "Blue Champagne: The History of the Torch Song" will be presented at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 ) on Friday & Saturday, October 22nd & 23rd at 9:00 pm. Andrea returns to her first love: the torch song! Yet, the heartbreak will be balanced by zany numbers in the quest for a little comic relief from unrequited love,and of course, wonderful stories about the earliest ladies of torch including Helen Morgan, Ruth Etting, Libby Holman, and Fannie Brice, among others. Highlights include Someone to Watch Over Me, If Love Were All, Love Me or Leave Me, Body and Soul, and Shakin' the Blues Away. These are the final West Coast performances of this show before it moves to The Algonquin for the winter. Call for cover/minimum information.
