NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. NYC: MARIEANN MERINGOLO WITH "CRAZY LOVE" MONTHLY AT THE MET

Marieann Meringolo brings her new show "Crazy Love," to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for a monthly series opening on Friday, February 9th and running through December 19th. Remaining Show dates & times are Sunday, November 9th at 7:00 pm, and a special holiday show "In the Spirit" on Friday, December 19th at 7:00 pm. Singing from the heart, Meringolo covers an eclectic mix of music from Cole Porter to Sara Bareilles, Michel Legrand, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Marsha Malamet, and more. In this loveletter to love, Meringolo explores the far reaches of our romantic pursuits, on a road that is as bumpy as it is divine. The show features music director Doyle Newmyer on piano, Boots Maleson on bass, and Brian Woodruff on drums. Eric Michael Gillett is the show's director. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). The optional theme for Sunday evening November 9th is "Happiness Is ...". Co-Host will be Marnie Klar. NYC: KATHLEEN FRANCE & DAWN DEROW: REVOLUTION
MAC Award nominees Kathleen France and Dawn Derow team up for special evenings at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, October 28; Sunday, November 9th and Tuesday November 11th, all shows at 6:30 pm. The best-friend duo will take their audience on a musical journey through a time of war entitled REVOLUTION. They will sing songs of patriotic American women willing to fight for truth, and answer the call to action from the year 1776 to present day. France and Derow will examine messages sent by war, conflict peace and protest. This concept Cabaret show, conceived by Kathleen France, is an homage to what kabarett used to be like in the German tradition. With the use of political satire and gallows humor, REVOLUTION will tackle important civil rights issues affecting American people. This fresh, yet classic, take will make the show a popular entertainment on the New York Cabaret scene. The show, vast in scope and deep in content is better classified as an event! This will give these two cosmopolitan New Yorker's a platform large enough to share their personal stories and forthright observations in an evening of protest, revolution, compassion, healing and laughs. Directed by Lennie Watts. Music directed by Andrew Sotomayor. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: T OLIVER REID: REMEMBERING HARLEM 1934

Singer and Broadway star T. Oliver Reid leads what he describes as "a club hopping journey through the swanky clubs and low down joints of 1934 Harlem," at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm. He will be featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, Andy Razaf, and more. In this new show, Reid performs each number with the unmistakable dramatic flair of a musical theater veteran, and he also provides an overview of the clubs, musicians, and social context of the music. Funny, informative, and a consummate showman, Reid will transport you back to the heyday of iconic venues like the Cotton Club. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ASSASSINS IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) continues their popular Sondheim Unplugged series with a very special edition on Sunday, Noveober 9th at 9:30 pm. They will be celebrating the music of two landmark musicals: Assassins and Sunday in the Park with George. Everybody's Got the Right to attend when a collection of esteemed voices from Broadway & beyond delve into treasured Sondheim tunes like Color and Light, The Ballad of Booth, Everybody Loves Louis, Unworthy of Your Love, Finishing the Hat & Another National Anthem. Hosted by 54 Below's own Director of Original Programming and regular Sondheim Unplugged host, Phil Geoffrey Bond, expect special tidbits of backstage folklore along with a wide range of compositions from these two ground-breaking shows, among the most admired in the Sondheimian canon. There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
