The sly, animated singer performs sets of freshly arranged classics, with at least a wink and a nod towards jazz's long tradition of innuendo. In addition to his takes on Fats Waller tunes, tonight's main feature, the show will also include selections from Michael Mwenso's Downtown Speakeasy: The Prohibited Jazz Age, his recent smash success at Joe's Pub, featuring choice songs of the 1920s in which, to this day, "innuendo" is an understatement. With arrangements full of smart surprises, a young band comprised of New York's most impressive rising stars, and special guest vocalist Brianna Thomas, these sets will leave audiences - once again - begging for more. Call for cover/minimum information.
