NYC: METROPOLITAN ROOM PRESENTS 1ST SNEAK PEEK FALL PREVIEW

For its first "Sneak Peek Fall Preview" on Wednesday, September 3rd at 7:00 pm, THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will present T. Oliver Reid, Richard Pryor Jr., Luba Mason, Dorothy Bishop, Devin Bing, Shelly Burch, Maxine Linehan and Raven O performing excerpts from their upcoming shows. This showcase of the fall schedule is produced by Joseph Macchia and Bernie Furshpan. It is the first time the Metropolitan Room has offered audiences and the press this kind of an all-in-one sampler of its schedule. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge

NYC: COUNTRY MUSIC EVENT AT THE MET TO BE SIMULCAST TO NASHVILLE

If you're a fan of classic country music, you're invited to a pair of performances in early September in New York City that will celebrate the roots of country music, including one show that will be simulcast in Nashville. The first-of-its-kind performance will feature Sherry Carlisle (Smith), Rachel Rodriguez, Karen Dee and Skip Browner on Wednesday, September 3rd at 9:30 pm and Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 pm atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). By using state-of-the-art Yamaha Disklavier technology, the Thursday show will be simulcast to an audience in the Miller Piano Specialists showroom, at 6:00 pm C.S.T., in Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville audience is asked to arrive by 5:30 pm C.S.T. All of the performers have experienced classic country music through their working relationships with some of the best-loved country artists - the legendary entertainers that paved the way for those in country music today. Yamaha dealer, Faust Harrison Pianos located on W. 58th St. in Manhattan will provide the Yamaha Disklavier to the Metropolitan Room and partner in this event. NYC: SINGER/SONGWRITER TIM DI PASQUA RETURNS TO DON'T TELL MAMA

Award-winning OUT Singer/ Songwriter/ Pianist Tim Di Pasqua continues his songbook concert series with a brand new show at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, September 3rd at 7:00 pm. Tim effortlessly weaves his own unique style thoughout all genres of music, from pop to country and from jazz to Broadway, and delivers a fantastic sixty minute set of music that will leave you wanting to hear more. Tim will perform original classics from his albums 'Monster Under These Conditions' and 'Purpose Of Love - A Tim Di Pasqua Songbook' Volumes One and Two. In addition, he will present selections from his musical revue 'Notes On New York - The Musicalized Observations of Tim Di Pasqua', as well as brand new songs from his upcoming musical 'An Apartment On The Upper West Side'. As well as new and unrecorded pop songs from his catalog. Tim is the recipient of the New York Nightlife Award and four Back Stage Bistro awards including Outstanding Singer/ Instrumentalist and Outstanding Song of the Year. Joining Tim once again will be Matt Scharfglass on bass. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: UTE LEMPER AT 54 BELOW

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents renowned international chanteuse and star of Broadway's Chicago Ute Lemper for a return engagement on Tuesday through Saturday, September 2nd through 6th at 7:00 pm. The journey starts in Berlin with Ute's repertoire of Brecht and Weill and classic cabaret songs and travels to the poetic universe of Jacques Brel & Edith Piaf. Then, join Ute's voyage as she continues to Argentina and Tango Nuevo and walks the backstreets of Paris, Berlin, Buenos Aires and New York, where she's made her home for fifteen years now. Discover musical ghosts who have their own tales of loss, love, passion, survival, rebellion & opposition to tell. There is a $40-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: VARLA JEAN MERMAN AT 54 BELOW

Returning to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday & Thursday, September 3rd & 4th at 9:30 pm, Varla Jean Merman, aka Jeffery Roberson, unveils a show of hilarious songs, videos and fabulous costumes, featuring musical director Tom Judson at the piano. Jeffery starred in the musical Lucky Guy opposite Leslie Jordan in New York in 2011 at the Little Shubert Theatre. This past year, Jeffery completed shooting the sequel to the camp classic film Girls Will Be Girls, and Varla Jean and the Mushroomheads is now available on www.SethTV.com. Off-Broadway audiences embraced Jeffrey when he played the title role in Giancarlo Menotti's opera The Medium. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
