BOSTON: OLETA ADAMS AT SCULLERS

Oleta Adams will perform at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Friday & Saturday, September 26th & 27th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. With seven CDs, including secular, gospel, a Christmas album, and Let's Stay Here, worldwide acclaim and over two-and a-half million albums sold, Oleta's musical odyssey continues - spiritually and creatively. For this consummate artist- composer -producer -musician, many goals remain on the horizon. Call for cover/minimum information. 

TORONTO: ADI BRAUN: AN EVENING WITH ROSIE, JUDY AND PEGGY

Canadian Jazz Vocalist Adi Braun will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Thursday through Saturday, September 25th through 27th at 9:00 pm. Adi has a long list of cabaret, concert and theatre successes to her credit. She has performed in every major jazz and concert venue in Toronto, has toured Canada, the United States and Europe, and released four critically acclaimed CDs, Delishious, The Rules of the Game, Live at the Metropolitan Room, and her latest offering Canadian Scenes I featuring all original material. Adi's repertoire ranges from the Great American songbook, to European cabaret, to contemporary songs by Canada legend's Shirley Eikhard and Gordon Lightfoot as well as her own originals. She is joined on stage by Dave Restivo - piano, Pat Collins - bass and Daniel Barnes - drums. There is a $15-$20 cover.

TORONTO: JAZZ BISTRO YOUNG ARTIST SERIES: CLAIRE YUNJIN LEE 

Claire Yunjin Lee will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Thursday through Saturday, September 25th through 27th at 6:00 pm as part of the club's Young Artist Series. Claire has one more year to go to achieve her Bachelor's Degree of Music at Humber College. The Korean-Canadian pianist, composer, accompanist and educator is growing her reputation among young musicians in the jazz scene of Toronto. Born in Seoul, Korea, Claire moved to Canada when she was 13. Although her precious formal classical training did not continue for long, she was introduced to music again when she was graduated from high school. She achieved certification of Introduction to Jazz Performance program at Humber College, prior to the Bachelor's program. Over the years at Humber, she studied with world-renowned Canadian musicians such as Brian Dickinson, Bernie Senensky, Nancy Walker, Kirk MacDonald, Mike Downes, and New York's David Virelles. As evidenced in her compositions and playing, Claire's highly inspired by Bud Powell and Andrew Hill. Striving towards virtuosity on her piano, Claire seeks to carry both traditional and modern sound of jazz in her future works. There is no cover.
