NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: DOROTHY BISHOP AND THE DOZEN DIVAS SHOW

Dorothy Bishop brings her 'Dozen Divas Show to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 pm. The show is directed by John Paolillo and written by Dorothy Bishop and James Jorden. A Yale trained soprano, Dorothy's incredible versatility and outrageous sense of humor landed her as a finalist on America's got Talent Season 4. She has headlined and emcee'd events all over the world including Soloist at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, First Broadway National Tour of Master Class (Starring Faye Dunaway) Her own headline act (Viva la Diva) on the world's top luxury liners - Queen Mary 2, Royal Caribbean, Regent Seven Seas, and is presently touring with her own musical comedy The Dozen Divas Show. She has played the ultra fabulous and top chic clubs of NYC including Broadway's New Klub Kazino and 42nd Streets hottest new nightclub - XL. There is a $22 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: 'EN AVANT!' THE TENNESSEE WILLIAMS EXPERIENCE

William Shuman's 'En Avant!' will be performed on TuesdayS, August 12th, 19th & 26th at 7:00 pm at STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590). Winner of 2013 New York International Fringe Festival "Overall Excellence Award for Solo Performance", 'En Avant! An Evening with Tennessee Williams' is a highly personal one-man play that explores the family dynamic, the seminal work, the most important lovers and the demons that shaped the development of the man considered by many to be America's greatest playwright. Tennessee Williams was American Theatre for much of the 20th century. And though many of his master works continue to be produced, the legacy of the man himself is slowly being lost. Written and performed by William Shuman, En Avant! provides a unique view into the heart and mind of this admittedly "wounded man". Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: TONY YAZBECK MAKES HIS 54 BELOW DEBUT WITH THE FLOOR ABOVE ME

Just in time for his return to the Great White Way as Gabey in next season's revival of On the Town, perennial song and dance man Tony Yazbeck heats up the stage at54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, August 11th and Thursday, August 14th at 9:30 pm and Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 pm with The Floor Above Me - a thrilling evening of tenor melodies and tenacious tap dancing! The beloved Broadway vet, late of Little Me at Encores!, who has also appeared in Gypsy (Tulsa), Chicago (Billy Flynn), Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Phil Davis), A Chorus Line (Al), Oklahoma!, Never Gonna Dance and NBC's Smash - will be joined by fellow Broadway hoofer Curtis Holbrook (If/Then, West Side Story, Xanadu) and tap dance sensation Melinda Sullivan (So You Think You Can Dance, Glee). In this show, with tunes spanning from MGM to Joni Mitchell, Tony will weave tales from his first Broadway gig at age 11 (as a Newsboy in Tyne Daly's Gypsy) to his recent turn as Tulsa in the Patti LuPone revival, as well as share anecdotes from his professional and personal journey that has established him as a stalwart New York song and dance man. NYC: WRITER'S BLOCK HOSTED BY JOE ICONIS

After a year-long hiatus, Writer's Block is back for one night only at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 ) on Tuesday, August 19th at 9:30 pm. Writer's Block is the place where some of NYC's most talented up-and-coming songwriters of contemporary musical theatre and beyond stop by to try new work, revisit older tunes, and maybe even make a friend or two. For this one-night-only event they've got an all-star line up of writers stopping by, including Sam Salmond, Michael R Jackson, Rob Rokicki, Alexander Sage Oyen, Anderson & Petty, Ewalt & Walker, Will Van Dyke, Positive Feedback (Adam Blotner & Jenny Pinzari), and more! Want to perform your own original work at 54 Below? Stop by Writer's Block for the chance to perform in one of a few of open-mic slots! Sign up in the lobby before 9:30 pm for a chance to perform; names are drawn at random. After you've enjoyed listening to new work by your favorite songwriters and maybe even performed yourself, stick around for an extra special impromptu performance by host Joe Iconis and his merry band of musical theatre punks! NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
