NYC: MARIEANN MERINGOLO WITH "CRAZY LOVE" MONTHLY AT THE MET

Marieann Meringolo brings her new show "Crazy Love," toTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for a monthly series opening on Friday, February 9th and running through December 19th. Remaining Show dates & times are Sunday, August 17th at 7:00 pm; Friday, September 19th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, October 18th at 7:00 pm; Sunday, November 9th at 7:00 pm, and a special holiday show "In the Spirit" on Friday, December 19th at 7:00 pm. Singing from the heart, Meringolo covers an eclectic mix of music from Cole Porter to Sara Bareilles, Michel Legrand, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Marsha Malamet, and more. In this loveletter to love, Meringolo explores the far reaches of our romantic pursuits, on a road that is as bumpy as it is divine. The show features music director Doyle Newmyer on piano, Boots Maleson on bass, and Brian Woodruff on drums. Eric Michael Gillett is the show's director. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SUNDAY NIGHT CABARET WITH DOROTHY STONE & ORI DAGAN

Internationally renowned operatic soprano Dorothy Stone joins forces with "Canada's Next Top Crooner" Ori Dagan on Sunday, August 17th at 9:30 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). In this cabaret, entitled, "Ga Ga for Gershwini" the two deliver some of the greatest songs of the 20th century in a variety of styles. Based in New York City, Dorothy Stone has taught and performed in opera, operetta, musical theatre and recitals throughout the United States, Europe and South America. In demand as both active performer and master teacher, she combines her unique and holistic style of teaching with a broad knowledge of vocal repertoire, encompassing a large variety of musical styles. Voted Toronto's "Best Male Vocalist" in the Now Magazine's Reader's Poll, Ori Dagan was also named "Canada's Next Top Crooner" by CBC Radio 1. He was initially inspired to sing by Ella Fitzgerald's genius scat solos and spent nearly a decade studying jazz formally before releasing his debut album, "S'Cat Got My Tongue," which garnered critical acclaim for the singer's sense of musical adventure. Never before has the playlist been so flexible. It will be a completely relaxed Free-Form format, allowing you to enjoy more music.
