LONDON: MARI WILSON AT THE CRAZY COQS
"The Neasden Queen of Soul' Mari Wilson will perform atTHE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED- 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, Jul y 8th through 12th at 8:00 pm. For over 30 years Mari Wilson has remained a much loved, respected artiste, delivering fans 'just what they always wanted': great records and fabulous shows. This week Mari takes her audience on an intimate musical journey, with a mix of classical and contemporary songs, from The Bee Gees and Bacharach to Chrissie Hynde and Gerry Marsden. Mari will also perform some of her own hits, old and new, and perform a selection of songs from her new show- 'Am I The Same Girl- Mari Sings Dusty.' Her unique storytelling and wit runs throughout, and of course there will be a few glamorous costume changes. In 2000, Mari was the obvious choice to play the legend Dusty Springfield on the hugely successful nationwide tour of Dusty The Musical and this year has seen Mari touring the UK with her sell-out concerts paying homage to Dusty Springfield with her unique interpretation of the classic hits along with some lesser known gems. Shane Hampsheir, a London based singing sensation, will perform at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Tuesday, July 8th at 8:30 pm. Shane is making huge waves in the music industry as an outstanding jazz and swing soloist. A born entertainer, Shane is a striking performer invariably compared with Michael Buble and with a voice to match. Call for cover/minimum information.
