Dorothy Bishop brings her 'Dozen Divas Show to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, September 24th at 9:30 pm. The show is directed by John Paolillo and written by Dorothy Bishop and James Jorden. A Yale trained soprano, Dorothy's incredible versatility and outrageous sense of humor landed her as a finalist on America's got Talent Season 4. She has headlined and emcee'd events all over the world including Soloist at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, First Broadway National Tour of Master Class (Starring Faye Dunaway) Her own headline act (Viva la Diva) on the world's top luxury liners - Queen Mary 2, Royal Caribbean, Regent Seven Seas, and is presently touring with her own musical comedy The Dozen Divas Show. She has played the ultra fabulous and top chic clubs of NYC including Broadway's New Klub Kazino and 42nd Streets hottest new nightclub - XL. There is a $22 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

The show explores the great American songbook with musicians that play with style and panache. Ginger's repertoire includes a wealth of beautiful jazz standards and her silky voice has been said to remine one of the legendary Rosemary Clooney. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

LONDON: STEVEN BRINBERG IS SIMPLY BARBRA

Due to phenomenal demand, Steven Brinberg returns with 'Simply Barbra', to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) Tuesdays through Thursday, September 23rd through 25th at 8:00 pm. The show will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Funny Girl, which opened on Broadway in 1964 and came to London two years later. The internationally acclaimed film version, which was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, followed in 1968. Musical director Nathan Martin and a different West End guest star accompany Brinberg each night. Steven has been acclaimed for his vocal performance of Barbra Streisand all over the world for over a decade. In addition to touring around America, he has played extensively in England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, Spain, Mexico and Canada ... more cities then the real Barbra! NYC: MIDTOWN JAZZ AT MIDDAY: 100TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE TO MATT DENNIS AT 1:00 PM:

MIDTOWN JAZZ AT MIDDAY continues at ST. PETER'S CHURCH - SANCTUARY (619 Lexington Avenue, NYC - 212-935-2200) every Wednesday. Midday Jazz Midtown is an ongoing jazz program for the midtown community. Concerts take place in the Sanctuary of Saint Peter's Church and are presented by Midtown Arts Common in cooperation with Saint Peter's Church. Ronny Whyte is the producer. The show on Wednesday, September 24th features a '100th Anniversary Tribute To Matt Dennis' with Bob Dorough, Mary Foster Conklin, Roz Corral, Alex Leonard, Ronny Whyte, Boots Maleson, and David Silliman. Matt Dennis (1914-2002) was an American singer, pianist, band leader, arranger, and writer of music for popular songs. Some of his most famous compositions include "Angel Eyes," "Everything Happens to Me," and "Violets for Your Furs." Performances are at 1:00 pm, $10 donation.

WASHINGTON, DC: DANIELA SCHACHTER: "ITALIAN JAZZ SERIES"

Daniela Schachter will perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, September 22nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm as part of the club's Italian Jazz Series. Daniela started early her musical career: by her mid-teens was already performing publicly in Sicily, Italy, as well as doing studio session work. After her classical studies she moved to Boston MA as recipient of a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, where she studied with Phil Wilson, Joe Lovano, Hal Crook and above all with Joanne Brackeen. Daniela has won many prestigious awards, such as the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition 2005, The Sister in Jazz Competition 2002, the Betty Carters Jazz Ahead Competition 2002, the Terri Lyne Carrington Endowed Scholarship, the Tindari 93, Prize for the best jazz duo with her brother Davide and also she appeared in the Jazziz magazine collector's CD (July 2001). BOSTON: ERIC HARLAND VOYAGER AT THE REGATTABAR

Multi-Grammy Nominated Drummer, Eric Harland will perform at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7:30 pm. TORONTO: YOUNG ARTIST SERIES: KRISTIAN PODLACHA

Kristian Podlacha performs at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm as part of the club's Young Artist series. Born into a musical family, Kristian started studying piano at 7 and was writing classically by 8. Early exposure to Oscar Peterson and Django Reinhardt caused him to fall deeply in love with jazz, a style of music that has shaped his life. Since then, he has explored and performed swing, French jazz manouche, contemporary jazz, and classical music. The result is a highly personal sound blending the harmony of French impressionists Ravel and Debussy with the passion of jazz manouche; all placed within the sophistication of modern jazz. Kristian has performed at virtually all of the major live music venues in Toronto, and performed for Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, an event honouring Justin Trudeau. He has shared the stage with such luminaries as Jason Marsalis, Leslie Dawn-Knowles, members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian Opera Company, and on OmniTV, CP24 and Canada's Got Talent. He is currently studying piano at the University of Toronto with scholarship. There is no cover. 

TORONTO: LYDIA PERSAUD GROUP AT THE JAZZ BISTRO

The Lydia Persaud Group, hailing from Toronto, Ontario, performs at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 8:00 pm. The groiup (Lydia Persaud - Vocals, Chris Pruden - Keys, Julian Anderson Bowes - Bass, Eric West - Drums) combines the flavours of Soul, Jazz and R&B. Drawing influences from Stevie Wonder and Gretchen Parlato while paying respects to the classic sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson to name a few. Winner of the 2012 Oscar Peterson Award, Lydia's presence is captivating and sincere. Debut EP "Lost and Found" featuring guest artists such as Rich Brown, has received support from Jazz FM as featured on Jazzology in 2013. NYC: DENA DEROSE CD RELEASE CELEBRATION AT BIRDLAND

Jazz vocalist/ pianist Dena DeRose will celebrate the release of her latest CD at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm. She is joined by David Wong (bass), Matt Wilson (drums), Eric Alexander (tenor sax), Gary Smulyan (baritone sax) and Ingrid Jensen (trumpet). HighNote Records welcomes Dena to their roster with her label debut recording "We Won't Forget You... An Homage To Shirley Horn" which features the understated, swinging side of the late, great Horn. As this year would have been Ms. Horn's 80th birthday, it seems only appropriate for DeRose, also a triple threat vocalist, pianist, and arranger, to pay tribute to one of her major idols. Boasting an imaginative set list of some lesser recorded gems and varied use of the instrumental colors available, Dena DeRose's first release on HighNote is jazz singing and playing of the highest order. NYC: BUD POWELL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT BIRDLAND

A 90th Birthday Celebration of jazz pianist Bud Powell (September 27, 1924 - July 31, 1966) will be held at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Tuesday through Saturday, September 23rd through 27th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Celebrating will be a band made up of Greg Osby (alto sax), Melissa Aldana (tenor sax, 9/23-26), Jaleel Shaw (altosax, 9/27), Dan Tepfer (piano), Lonnie Plaxico (bass) and Matt Wilson (drums). Powell was born and raised in Harlem, New York City. While Thelonious Monk became his close friend, his greatest influence was Art Tatum. Along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a leading figure in the development of bebop, and his virtuosity as a pianist led many to call him the Charlie Parker of the piano. There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: THE COOKERS - ALBUM RELEASE AT THE BLUE NOTE

The Cookers celebrate the release of their new CD at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Tuesday & Wednesday, September 23rd & 24th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. Hard Bop, a jazz style of the late 50's and early 60's, emerged out of the Be Bop era of Gillespie and Parker with players like Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Donald Byrd, Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard. Hard Bop is an intensely swinging groove using Soul, Blues and Gospel influences, extended harmonies and blistering solos. The group performs newly arranged versions of classic compositions by Billy Harper and George Cables along with works by the other members of the ensemble.While giants in their own right, the members of this ensemble have performed and/or recorded with pretty much every jazz great of the past 40 years including Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Max Roach, Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Jackie McLean, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Lee Morgan, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, and Roy Haynes, to name just a few. There is a $20-$35 cover.

NYC: PETER BERNSTEIN QUARTET AT DIZZY'S

The Peter Bernstein Quartet will perform at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Monday & Tuesday, September 22nd & 23rd with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Peter Bernstein is a real musician's guitarist, with maturity, impeccable feel, and a sound comparable to straight-ahead favorites like Jim Hall and Wes Montgomery. He seems to be everyone's favorite sideman these days, and he is also increasingly renowned as a leader and composer. Tonight, Bernstein's quartet will include his longtime bassist John Webber and NEA Jazz Master drummer Jimmy Cobb, who has worked with musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie and Billie Holiday, and is known for such classic recordings as Miles Davis' Kind of Blue and John Coltrane's Giant Steps. There is a $30-$35 cover.

Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Eric Comstock continues his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. There is a $20 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MORA NEWMAN: EYDIE IN MY SOUL

Possibly the best voice of her generation, Eydie Gorme left an indelible mark on many singers, including Mora Newman. On Tuesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), Mora takes her journey through a lifetime of musical influences ... all Eydie. Including many of Ms. Gorme's greatest hits and some lesser known gems. Directed by T. Oliver Reid with musical direction by Tedd Firth and accompanied by Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on drums. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: RICHMOND SHEPARD PREMIERES "YOU WANT TO BE A WHAT?!?" AT DON'T TELL MAMA 

Richmond Shepard, known variously as the first mime in America, America's foremost mime, and now the world's oldest active mime, will bring his show "You Want to Be a What?!?" to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Tuesdays, September 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and October 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th all shows at 9:15 pm. Supported by Nicholas Wolfson on guitar and two back-up mimes - Carol Tandava Henning and Marcus Watson - Shepard does stand-up mime, and recounts strange stories about his colorful career! Written, directed and performed by Shepard, "You Want to Be a What?!?" (subtitled "A Memoir in Mime") combines vintage and modern mime idioms, adding music and back-up mimes and tossing in a lighted match! There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: MAJOR SCALES' MINOR BREAKDOWN

Pianist/ performer/ man about town Major Scales, co-writer and co-creator of The Vaudevillians with Jinkx Monsoon, returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Monday & Tuesday, September 22nd & 23rd at 9:00 pm to premiere his latest creation, 'MAJOR SCALES' MINOR BREAKDOWN: SONGS NOT READY FOR BROADWAY.' This evening of original songs and stories will run for 2 performances only. The show is an evening of the prolific composer's original songs for his original Broadway shows that have yet to be written. The always-debonair Major Scales will be there to lead you through his ditties, divorced from plot, with a half-smile and half-full Manhattan. Be one of the first to hear these never-before-staged songs in search of a musical! Major Scales is the evil twin of Richard Andriessen, a musician, writer and performer based in Seattle. Richard arranged the music for and starred in MAC nominated, often-extended musical comedy "The Vaudevillians", with RuPaul's Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon. Composer/lyricist Scott Evan Davis makes his debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 9:30 pm with a concert of new material as well as songs from his album Cautiously Optimistic. After having his show Picture Perfect performed in New York, LA, London and Australia, he returns to the cabaret setting for the first time in over two years, to tell intimate stories of how certain songs came to be, as well showcase material from his new musical Indigo. With Scott at the piano, accompanied by the cellist James Clark and some of New York's finest voices, including Derek Klena, Karen Mason, Lisa Howard, Natalie Douglas, Julie Reyburn, Sierra Rein, Erik Sisco, Vicky Modica, Joshua Dixon, Kim Grogg, Jamie Hartmann, David Harris, Remy Zaken, and more, Scott Evan Davis will celebrate his 37th birthday as he explores love, loss, relationships and patterns, and ultimately, acceptance within his songs. NYC: JON HENDRICKS CELEBRATES 93RD BIRTHDAY AT CAFE CARLYLE

Iconic jazz lyricist and singer Jon Hendricks will celebrate his 93rd birthday at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesday, September 23rd at 8:45 pm. This will be his Cafe Carlyle debut. Called the "James Joyce of Jive" by Time, Jon Hendricks has been wowing audiences for nearly fifty years. Famous fans include members of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Van Morrison, Bobby McFerrin and Al Jarreau. Hendricks' lyrics have been sung by the likes of Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, Dinah Washington, The Manhattan Transfer, Thelonious Monk and Carmen McRae. In 1966, Hendricks recorded "Fire in the City" with the Grateful Dead (who where then known as the Warlocks). Additionally, Jon Hendricks is considered one of the originators of vocalese, a process in which lyrics are added to existing instrumental songs while also replacing instruments with vocalists. Throughout the '60s and'70s, Jon Hendricks was one-third of the celebrated jazz group Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. Nowadays, he recreates his long-time vocal trio with Aria Hendricks (his daughter) and Kevin Fitzgerald Burke. There is a $20-$55 cover.

NYC: SMILE: A BROADAWAY REUNION AT 54 BELOW

The Broadway musical cult favorite SMILE, by Howard Ashman and Marvin Hamlisch, returns to New York for a one-night-only reunion concert performance at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday, September 22nd at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. SMILE opened on the Great White Way in 1986, and closed after 48 performances. The musical follows the intrigue and exploits onstage and behind-the-scenes as Santa Rosa, California plays host to the Young American Miss Pageant. With a bright, brassy, exciting score that includes "Disneyland," "Shine," "Young And American," "Until Tomorrow Night," and many more Hamlisch/Ashman treasures, SMILE is one of the greatest underappreciated Broadway musicals of the 1980s. LONDON: STEVEN BRINBERG IS SIMPLY BARBRA

Due to phenomenal demand, Steven Brinberg returns with 'Simply Barbra', to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) Tuesdays through Thursday, September 23rd through 25th at 8:00 pm. The show will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Funny Girl, which opened on Broadway in 1964 and came to London two years later. The internationally acclaimed film version, which was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, followed in 1968. Musical director Nathan Martin and a different West End guest star accompany Brinberg each night. Steven has been acclaimed for his vocal performance of Barbra Streisand all over the world for over a decade. LOS ANGELES: SARA STUCKEY MAKES CABARET DEBUT AT THE GARDENIA

Sara Stuckey makes her cabaret debut at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Monday, September 22nd at 9:00 pm. Sara has distinguished herself in the local theatre community with such roles as "Sarah" in Crown City Theatre's Company, "Georgie" in Third Street Theatre's The Full Monty, and award-winning turns as "Tessie Tura" in West Coast Ensemble's Gypsy, "Darlene" in Buttermilk Production's Caught, and "Gwendolyn Pigeon" in the Norris Theatre's production of The Odd Couple. She will be seen this fall on the I.D. Channel in Heartbreakers, starring Judd Nelson and Nicole Eggert, and she is reprising her role as "Cheryl Whitford" in the web series, Split - Season 2. Hosted by Justin Jones and Bruce Merkle, some of the most talented show tune singers around duke it out in interactive performance games involving memorization, rapid-fire costume changes and "screlting," a method of singing wherein the belting out of a given song becomes a high, loud (yet somehow still listenable) scream. CHICAGO: MUSICAL MONDAYS: FEELIN' GROOVYFEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

Fabrizio Sotti, an Italian jazz guitarist, composer, songwriter and producer, will appear at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Monday, September 22nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. At ease in the bebop form, the Italian guitar virtuoso, producer and songwriter is also well versed in Jazz Fusion, Post-Bop, Blues, Soul, Hip Hop, R&B, and other forms of modern American music. Sotti has played, recorded and/or collaborated with a number of diverse musical collaborators including Tupac, Q Tip, Gipsy Kings, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Shaggy, Ghostface Killah, David Knopfler, Cassandra Wilson, John Patitucci, Roy Hargrove and many other well-known artists. WASHINGTON, DC: BOHEMIAN CAVERNS JAZZ ORCHESTRA 

The Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, a 17 piece big band co-founded by baritone saxophonist Brad Linde, trumpeter Joe Herrera and club owner Omrao Brown, performs on Mondays at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS(2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) at 8:00 pm. The BCJO presents a variety of music from big band literature and features some of the District's best musicians on Monday nights at the historic Bohemian Caverns. Music from Ellington, Basie,Strayhorn, Thad Jones, Oliver Nelson, Maria Schneider and originals by band members will embrace and challenge the tradition of big band repertoire. There is a $10 cover.

NYC: VERY SPECIAL JAMIE DEROY AND FRIENDS AT BIRDLAND

A Very Special Jamie deRoy & friends will be presented at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, September 22nd at 7:00 pm as part of the Broadway at Birdland series. The one-night-only event will benefit the THE ACTORS FUND . Jamie's special guests will include Joy Behar (The View, The Food Chain), Stephanie J. Block (Wicked, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Bryce Pinkham (Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Chad Kimball (Memphis), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (A Little Night Music), and Haley Swindal (Jekyll and Hyde). The colorful cabaret series Jamie deRoy & friends, which has been thrilling New York City audiences for the past 24 years and serves as the basis for deRoy's award-winning cable television show, spotlights a wide variety of well-known entertainers and newcomers lighting up the cabaret, theater, and comedy worlds. There is a $30-$50 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLANDFEATURED OPEN MIC EVENT

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle. It's the ultimate spot to mix and mingle with talented show folk and their fans. There is a $20 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JANE BUNNETT & MAQUEQUE AT THE BLUE NOTE

Canadian flutist and saxophonist Jane Bunnett's new sextet, Maqueque will perform at THE BLUE NOTE(131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Monday, September 22nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm, celebrating the release of their self-titled debut album. For more than thirty years, through her longstanding ensemble Spirits of Havana, Bennett has been introducing North American jazz audiences to some of the finest musicians that Cuba has to offer (providing early opportunities to such future greats as Pedrito Martinez, Dafnis Prieto, and Yosvany Terry, among others). Now, with her new sextet, Maqueque, she introduces some of Cuba's most promising female musicians to the world. Maqueque consists of virtuoso drummer Yissy Garcia, dynamic percussionist Dayme, Yusa on tres guitar and fretless bass, pianist Danae, and Magdelys on batas and congas. All are great vocalists as well as instrumentalists, and all are in their early 20's (with the exception of Yusa). Their blend of scintillating Afro-Cuban rhythms, folkloric influences, exhilarating jazz, and soulful vocals has broad appeal. There is a $10-$15 cover.

NYC: PETER BERNSTEIN QUARTET AT DIZZY'S

The Peter Bernstein Quartet will perform at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Monday & Tuesday, September 22nd & 23rd with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Peter Bernstein is a real musician's guitarist, with maturity, impeccable feel, and a sound comparable to straight-ahead favorites like Jim Hall and Wes Montgomery. He seems to be everyone's favorite sideman these days, and he is also increasingly renowned as a leader and composer. Tonight, Bernstein's quartet will include his longtime bassist John Webber and NEA Jazz Master drummer Jimmy Cobb, who has worked with musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie and Billie Holiday, and is known for such classic recordings as Miles Davis' Kind of Blue and John Coltrane's Giant Steps. There is a $30-$35 cover.
