Sandra Piller sings the Hit Parade Songs of Ruth Roberts at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday, October 9th at 9:00 pm. This special Gardenia show features songs written by Sandra's mother-In-law, which on its surface seems like a simply sweet gesture until one also considers that Ruth Roberts wrote for such stars as Doris Day, Buddy Holly, Debbie Reynolds, The Lennon Sisters, Dean Martin, Theresa Brewer, The McGuire Sisters, Patti Page, Jimmy Dean, Eydie Gorme, the Lawrence Welk Orchestra, Freda Payne, Petula Clark, Louie Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others. This performance reprises, with new material, the fond, fascinating, and highly entertaining tribute to Ruth Roberts that Miss Piller presented at The Gardenia in April.
