NYC: COMSTOCK & FASANO REPRISE "HELLUVA TOWN"
Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, the husband-and-wife team equally respected in both the pop and jazz worlds, return to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for one night only on Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 pm with their show, "HELLUVA TOWN: A New York Soundtrack". The show, which premiered at THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM in 2011, celebrates the love/hate affair Comstock, Fasano and most New Yorkers have with their city. Comstock and Fasano will perform an idiosyncratic mix of songs from Broadway and Hollywood, the pop singer-songwriters and the jazz songbook. The wide gamut of writers includes Leonard Bernstein, Rodgers & Hart, Comden & Green, Charles Strouse & Lee Adams, Cy Coleman & Carolyn Leigh, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Horace Silver, Jon Hendricks, Harry Warren, Billy Strayhorn, and Bacharach & David. Comstock and Fasano will perform songs from such New York musicals as ON THE TOWN, 42nd STREET, GOLDEN BOY, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, and PROMISES, PROMISES. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Harold Sanditen, jazz-cabaret singer and veteran theatre producer, is host of Open Mic Night at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) every Thursday at 10:30 pm, ably supported by regular musicians Michael Roulston on piano and Jonty Fisher on bass. It is always an entertaining evening full of fun and surprise. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites. For the audience, come and catch that proverbial 'rising star' (or possibly a famous West End name) in the intimate, "jewel-box" surroundings of The Crazy Coqs. Call for cover/ minimum information.
