NYC: HEATHER VILLAESCUSA AT DON'T TELL MAMA
Singer Heather Villaescusa will perform at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, September 30th at 8:00 pm. She is joined on stage by her musical director Steven Ray Watkins and his band plus back up vocalists, Rachel Scott and Cristina Doikos. Directed by Lennie Watts. One additional show is scheduled for Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 pm. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: CLUB GELBE STERN PERFORMS AT THE BEECHMAN
After a sell out season at NYMF 2014, Club Gelbe Stern brings her show to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm. The show tells the story of Erika Stern, a fictional Jewish chanteuse living and performing in Berlin as the Nazis begin their rise to power. Erika is provocative, sassy, feisty and above all determined to give a magnificent performance to her loyal audience. Using German, British and American cabaret music from the 1920's and 30's, Club Gelbe Stern offers audiences a glimpse of what it may have been like for Jewish performers in the final days of the Weimar Republic. There is a $25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
NYC: KAREN OBERLIN - HIS AIM IS TRUE: THE SONGS OF ELVIS COSTELLO
Multi-award winning Karen Oberlin returns to STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm with an additional encore performance of her acclaimed show HIS AIM IS TRUE: The Songs of Elvis Costello. Additional performances are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm and Thursday, October 15th at 9:30 pm. There is just one additional show scheduled at STAGE 72 for Cabaret Convention Week on Thursday, October 15th at 9:30 pm. Karen has been a fan of Elvis Costello since her early teens, when his young angst, disillusionment and vulnerable heart seemed perfectly in synch with her own. In this show she takes time to express some of the most intriguing elements of this unique singer/ songwriter's work and life. One of the most versatile and prolific contemporary artists, over the years Elvis has delved into innumerable genres and styles with passion and intelligence, including classical, jazz and pop. His many collaborative partners have included Burt Bacharach, the Brodsky String Quartet, Paul McCartney, Bill Frisell and the Jazz Passengers. For her new show, Karen brings forth a collection of material from her more than 30 years of following his eclectic, fascinating career. She is joined by Tedd Firth on piano, Sean Harkness on guitar and Steve Doyle on bass. Karen is a recipient of the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Donald F. Smith Award, along with multiple MAC awards, and an honorary doctorate in music. Her recordings are often featured on Jonathan Schwartz's radio show and she has headlined at all the major New York nightclub venues, including the Algonquin Oak Room, Feinstein's at the Regency, the Cafe Carlyle, Birdland, Kitano and 54 Below. She has performed at concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Town Hall and Caramoor, and her performances take her all over the world, including her annual engagements in London. NYC: DONNA HAYES RETURNS WITH ORDINARY MIRACLES
Donna Hayes returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm with her acclaimed show "Ordinary Miracles" directed by Gretchen Reinhagen with musical direction by Justin Stoney. Added to the mix for this show are Matt Scharfglass on bass and Donna Kelly on drums. Hayes shares her stories through songs ranging from brand new R&B, classic rock, show tunes, oldies to reggae - by artists and songwriters such as Carole King, John Legend, Stephanie Mills, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Tracy Chapman, Kander & Ebb, Phillip Phillips, and more. These are Donna's personal accounts, and the songs that remind her that the world around us is not so ordinary after all. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ROSE KINGSLEY BRINGS HER SHOW TO THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
Palm Springs singer Rose Kingsley has been taking her talents nation-wide lately, but on Wednesday, September 30th at 9:30 pm, she'll bring her show "Through the years with JOHNNY MERCER" to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). The show will feature Songs specially arranged by the Legendary Bob Corwin, son-in- law, pianist, and collaborator for Johnny Mercer. Performing at NYC's METROPOLITAN OPERA for15 years, she also wowed audiences throughout Europe singing with opera companies everywhere from the UK to Italy, Germany and Austria. Throughout her extraordinary career, she has performed throughout the U.S. and aboard delivering her arias in the classic operas "Aida," "Tosca," "Electra," "La Boheme" and "Salome" in her longtime signature title role. She has also appeared in concert with Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra. With a background in Opera, Rose studied at Julliard, and has performed for four Presidents, as well as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Vic Damone and many others. Rose's musical director, Bob Corwin has conducted and arranged for such notables as Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae, and Anita O'Day, to name a few. There is a $24 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: AMANDA MCBROOM - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL: THE SONGS THAT SANG MY LIFE
American international cabaret performer Amanda McBroom, writer of the hit song "The Rose", returns to FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday & Thursday, September 30th and October 1st at 7:00 pm with her brand new show: "Up Close And Personal: The Songs That Sang My Life." Up Close And Personal will include new and unheard songs from McBroom's personal song writer trunk, plus songs by her favorite writers, among them Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins, Fran Landesman, John Bucchino, Jacques Brel, and more. McBroom is a Golden Globe winner lauded for her talent for writing exceptional songs that are witty and profound and flush with feelings. Never over-the-top, her work seethes with a passion that is artfully funneled into music and lyrics revealed so well in her two most popular songs, "The Rose" (from the Bette Midler film of the same name) and "Errol Flynn," which McBroom wrote about her father, the actor David Bruce who worked with Flynn and Gary Cooper.
