NYC: "THE ENGAYGEMENT" DAVID AUXIER WITH SEPH STANEK
"The EnGAYgement", featuring David Auxier with Seph Stanek, will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, August 19th at 7:00 pm; and Wednesday, September 9th at 9:30 pm. Also appearing are Elliott Mattox, Chris-Ian Sanchez, Jason Whitfield and Colleen Harris. Musical Direction & Arrangements by Mark York and the show is Directed by Duncan Pflaster. THE ENGAYGEMENT is an original musical adventure through the joys and tribulations of two men in New York City; the thrill of the first date, the bliss and the challenges of building a relationship, and the victories of marriage. With music and lyrics by David Auxier-Loyola and musical arrangements by Mark York, the show features delightful the storytelling, both poignant and hilarious, through a wealth of classic musical theater style with a modern sensibility. David Auxier is a 2007 MAC Award Nominee for Special Musical Material and is the creator of the 2009 Bistro Award winning Gilbert & Sullivan cabaret 'I've Got a Little Twist', which continues to tour the country. Outside of cabaret, David is a principle performer with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, as well as the company's choreographer and co-director. He can regularly be seen playing the Sergeant of Police in The Pirates of Penzance, Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore, and Pish-Tush in The Mikado. David also choreographs and performs with The Ziegfeld Society. Seph Stanek's musical career runs the gamut from pop to grand opera. Recent performances include a solo concert at San Francisco City Hall, I am Harvey Milk (with Kristin Chenoweth) at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, and a production of The Pirates of Penzance at Wolf Trap with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. Mark York (Musical Director/ Arranger) has been David Auxier's personal pianist since 1992. Mark is currently the pianist and co-arranger for Just Jim Dale, which recently completed an Off-Broadway run at the Roundabout, and now London's West End. He's the Executive Producer for The Ziegfeld Society, Music Coordinator for Jerry Herman and was Cy Coleman's Music Assistant. New York credits:Sweet Charity starring Christina Applegate, Busker Alley starring Jim Dale/Glenn Close, director - Tony Walton, Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolic of 2007, 2008 and 2010 starring Helen Gallagher, Jane Summerhays, Anita Gillette and Sarah Rice. Composer/ lyricist: Galveston! - The Vegas Before Vegas, Rest In Peace directed/ choreographed by Baayork Lee; A Midsummer Night, The Porker Sisters and 11 children's musicals. NYC: ANOTHER HUNDRED PEOPLE: SULLIVAN & HARNAR SING SONDHEIM: ACT TWO
KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on four Wednesdays in July with their new show 'Another Hundred People: Sullivan & Harnar Sing Sondheim: Act Two'. Performance dates are Tuesday through Friday, August 18th through 21st and Tuesdays, September 8th, 15th & 22nd; Monday, October 12th - all shows at 7:00 pm. Act Two is a companion piece to last summer's Act One "Our Time". Musical Director is Jon Weber and the show is directed by Sondra Lee. As two of the world's most acclaimed cabaret artists, KT Sullivan (Broadway: The Threepenny Opera, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes; Cabaret: Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, The Kennedy Center) and Jeff Harnar (Cabaret venues across the world including Carnegie Hall, and winner of the 2012 Noel Coward Foundation Cabaret Award) perform more Sondheim classics giving a new insight into the timeless music of Stephen Sondheim. She promises to bring you into her crazy world with an evening of some of your favorite pop and Broadway Diva impressions. Journey through the soulful stylings of Adele, the Latin beats of Shakira, dating back to the Golden Age with Liza and Judy and so many more. In 2010, Carly's viral YouTube video "Broadway Divas Send in the Clowns" landed her in the Top Ten Talented Videos of the Year by Time Magazine. NYC: LAURA DEAN IN FIRST SOLO CABARET SHOW OF HER CAREER
Laura Dean, who made her New York City Opera debut at 10 years old, will present the first solo cabaret show of her career at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, August 19th at 9:30 pm. With a mix of pop, rock and show tunes, Laura maps her journeys as an actor, a mother and a wife, and how those paths can cross. The music spans genres and decades, with songs by David Shire, Michael Gore, Pat Benatar, Elizabeth Swados, Freddie Mercury and more composers both new and known. A graduate of the High School of performing Arts, she's known for her film and TV work - Lisa, (the dancer who almost jumps in front of a subway) in Fame, Sophie (Rachel's Bloomindale's co-worker) on Friends, and Chicago - as well as Broadway. She played Mrs. Walker in The Who's Tommy and won the Theater World Award and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her role as Boopsie in Doonesbury. NYC: RITA RUDNER MAKES 54 BELOW DEBUT
Rita Rudner makes her 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) debut on Thursday through Saturday, August 20th through 22nd at 7:00 pm! A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened in June 2000, Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a fourteen year run and 2,000 plus shows, she has sold one and a half million tickets and become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas, even being named Las Vegas' Comedian Of The Year nine years in a row. Rita Rudner moved to New York at the age of fifteen to become a dancer on Broadway. She appeared in several shows, including the original productions of Follies and Mack and Mabel. It was while in Annie on Broadway that she began exploring the comedy clubs of Manhattan. In the early '80s, Rudner took a full-time leap from chorus lines to punch lines and was soon a regular guest on both "Late Night With David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show." Rita's first solo HBO special, "Rita Rudner's One Night Stand," was nominated for several awards, as was her eponymous English BBC television show that later appeared in the USA on A&E. Rudner's two one-hour specials for HBO filled Carnegie Hall in New York three times and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles twice. In 2008, Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas was PBS's first ever stand-up comedy special. Rudner is a frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband of twenty six years, Martin Bergman. The couple's first play - Room 776 - ran as part of the 2008 season of the Las Vegas Little Theatre. Their second play, based on Rita's first novel Tickled Pink, premiered at the Laguna Playhouse in April 2012. In 2016 Rita will again perform at the Playhouse in a new play, Act Three by David Ambrose. There is a $55-$110 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

Soon after the show, she flies off to Vancouver to film the newest CW comic book show, Legends of Tomorrow. Acoustic and varied, this concert covers many genres including folk, rock, jazz, and pop all stripped down to their simplest essence to illuminate the beauty and power of love. Fresh from her iconic portrayal of Sue Sylvester on "Glee" and her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan in "Annie," Jane Lynch returns to New York City to perform her new musical comedy "See Jane Sing" at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday through Wednesday, August 16th through 19th - with 2 performances nightly at 7:00 & 9:30 pm.
