NYC: CHARLES MCPHERSON QUINTET AT DIZZY'S

The Charles McPherson Quintet (Charles McPherson, alto saxophone; Steve Nelson, vibraphone; Yotam Silberstein, guitar; Kiyoshi Kitagawa, bass; and Chuck McPherson, drums) will perform at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Thursday through Sunday, December 11th through 14th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. The legendary musician played with Charles Mingus from 1960 to 1972 and has recorded with artists from Art Farmer to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Tonight's outstanding band features the equally storied Chuck McPherson on drums, young Israeli guitarist Yotam Silberstein on guitar, New York staple Steve Nelson on vibraphone, and prolific performer and composer Kiyoshi Kitagawa on bass. Call for cover/minimum information.
