The Dana Lorge Variety Show returns to the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Friday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. NYC: IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY
It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, December 12th at 9:30 pm and Friday, December 5th at 9:30 pm. This timeless holiday classic comes to the stage as a live 1940s radio broadcast, complete with on-stage sound effects by a real Foley artist. All the familiar faces - from cold-hearted banker Mr. Potter to small-town siren Violet to quirky guardian angel Clarence - are on hand to tell the story of George Bailey, a typical American who considers ending his life one Christmas eve. This fun, inventive take on a classic story of love and redemption aims to transport audiences back in time, and remind all of us that "no man is a failure who has friends." Following last summer's hit run at the New York International Fringe Festival and several sold-out shows at THE DUPLEX, the award winning "Best Ensemble" of Christian Mansfield, Philip Mutz, and Ken Urso are back to celebrate the holiday season with the MY BIG 'GAY CAMP' Christmas Spectacular! at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. NYC: STEVE TYRELL AT THE CAFE CARLYLE THROUGH DECEMBER 31st
Steve Tyrell returns for this annual Holiday season performances at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, November 25th through December 31st (no show December 25th) at 8:45 pm with additional late shows on Friday & Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Grammy Award-winning vocalist Steve Tyrell is truly a renaissance man. In over four decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed for 36 years. In 2013 Tyrell's contract was extended through his 11th season, starting a new Carlyle legacy that now also includes performances in May.
