CHICAGO: HOLIDAY POPS WITH BECKIE & TOM AND THE CHICAGO CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
A spectacular Holiday show, featuring Beckie Menzie & Tom Michaels and the Chicago Chamber Orchestra will be presented on Sunday, December 7th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 East Chestnut Street, Chicago, IL. Chicago's most in-demand cabaret duo will be performing popular holiday hits alongside classical music favorites of the season such as Vivaldi's Winter from "The Four Seasons" with CCO concertmaster John Harrison as soloist, and Corelli's delightful "Christmas Concerto". Compounded by the outstanding acoustics of Buchanan Chapel in the Gratz Center of Fourth Presbyterian Church, including original orchestrations by Chicago musician Jim Gailloreto, and conducted by Music Director Robert Turizziani, this performance will be sure to please. CHICAGO: FOILED AGAIN: HOLIDAY BIZARRE - WITH BECKIE & TOM!
Nobody does the holidays like Foiled Again. This year will be no exception. Foiled Again is Allison Bazarko, Rob Lindley, and Anne Sheridan Smith and they will be performing with Doug Peck on piano and Gavin Kirk on guitar at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Saturdays, December 6th, December 13th & December 20th, all shows at 8:00 pm. Special guests on the 6th are Beckie Menzie & Tom Michael. On December 13th special guest is Meghan "Big Red" Murphy and on December 20th they will appear with with special guest Miriam Plotkin. A hip, fresh (sometimes irreverent) look at some holiday classics and an introduction to some soon-to-be classics, the evening includes music by Joan Osborne, Irving Berlin, Joni Mitchell, kd Lang, Randy Newman, Judy Collins interwoven with amazingly intricate arrangements of carols and holiday tunes. Foiled Again takes the stage the first three Saturdays in December with an evening that will have you laughing, singing along, and help you beat those winter blues. This is also a chance for you to hear tracks from their brand-new album "Blanket of Winter" (on sale now at CDbaby.com or iTunes). A portion of each evening's profits will go to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Foiled Again has been singing together for years and have performed to sold-out rooms at Evanston: SPACE, Davenport's Piano Bar + Cabaret, The Chicago Cultural Center, The Chicago Humanities Festival, Maxim's, Noble Fool Theatre Cabaret, Theatre Building Chicago, The Drake Hotel, and the Acorn Theatre.
