Vocalist/songwriter Jack Phillips' CD "Cafe Nights in New York" (Magnolia Group Records) is an homage to nights spent in the Cafe listening to the likes of Bobby Short. These original jazz vocal tunes will remind the listener of the glamorous side of Manhattan, from the streets of Harlem to the penthouse apartments on Fifth Avenue. Mr. Phillips has written all new material for his foray into this style of musical entertainment. Conal Fowkes is responsible for the lovely keyboard work on this CD, along with bassist Pat O'Leary, drummer Klaus Suonsaari and multi-instrumentalist Scott Robinson.
