CABARET TONIGHT IN TORONTO: YOUNG ARTIST SERIES: EWEN FARNCOMBE
Toronto native Ewen Farncombe will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299 - http://jazzbistro.ca ) on Tuesday through Saturday, November 26th through 30th at 6:00 pm as part of the Young Artist Series. Farncombe has studied piano since the age of 14 - with an earlier musical history that included guitar, saxophone, and flute. While at Rosedale Heights, he joined a number of musical groups and enjoyed visiting New Orleans, meeting Doc Adams and hearing Jeff Beck and Ron Carter, among others. Ewen has studied formally with Steve Koven, and presently with Brian Rudolf. He loves improvising and has played in ensemble workshops that included Kirk MacDonald, Lorne Lofsky, and Barry Romberg. His musical horizons continue to expand and he is currently into composition and transcription. He loves all musical genres and is intrigued by musical theory, from its roots in the western tradition, to the very different customs of other cultures. No cover charge.
