Saxophonist Scott "Buggs" Allen performs at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141)on Tuesday, September 3rd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. When you're the 3rd generation of a family musical legacy, certain expectations exist. Those expectations are seldom met, let alone exceeded. But the grandson of a Cuban born balladeer, and his 5 octave soprano wife would become a multi-instrumentalist, band leader, and eventually an award-winning musical director. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Allen trained in music and the theatre arts at Arena Players, Inc. under the advisement of his mother (also a classically trained and locally renowned soprano and pianist).
