NYC: 54 BELOW PRESENTS BACKSTAGE, HOSTED BY SUSIE MOSHER
CELEBRATING MARCH IS CABARET MONTH
54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents BACKSTAGE, Broadway's Tuesday night cocktail party/songfest, hosted by Susie Mosher at 10:30 pm. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Mosher guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting. Special guests from hit Broadway shows drop in to perform. Members of the "Backstage repertory company", featuring some of New York's most exciting musical theatre talent, are on hand each week to sing everything from Schwartz to Sondheim. Special guest stars on March 19th include performances by Alysha Umphress (from Broadway's Priscilla Queen of the Dessert, On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, and American Idiot), Marla Mindelle (from Broadway's Cinderella, and Sister Act), Matt DeAngelis (from Broadway's Hair), Rebecca Naomi Jones (from Broadway's Passing Strange and American Idiot), and Matthew Hashimoto (from season 10 of "American Idol"). No cover charge, $20 food/drink minimum.
