NYC: PARKER SCOTT & WELLS HANLEY WITH RUBIN KODHELI AT THE MET
MEMBER DISCOUNT - $5 OFF THE COVER

"No Expectations" returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, February 25th at 7:00 pm, recalling the elegance and sophistication of an exquisite night out at the Persian Room during the golden heyday of NY nightclubs, Parker Scott, Wells Hanley and cellist Rubin Kodheli bring their virtuosic musicianship and unbridled passion. The show covers the musical landscapes of theater, pop, rock, standards and international favorites. The show is directed by Bistro Award-winning and MAC-nominated director, Gerry Geddes. Parker has been a MAC nominee, and his first collaboration with Wells - Selecting Souvenirs - resulted in the duo receiving a 2012 Bistro Award for outstanding recording. "No Expectations" (from the Rolling Stones hit) will explore the complexities of love and passion - the twists, the joys and the pains that come with putting your heart and soul on the line. It will include music by Cole Porter, Jimmy Webb, Ricky Ian Gordon, John Bucchino and Jacques Brel. The centerpiece of the show is The Waltz Medley which has music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics from his three major collaborators, Lorenz Hart, Oscar Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim. Parker, Wells and Rubin will also go to the streets of Paris for inspiration in the songs of Edith Piaf. There will be several arrangements for voice, piano and cello by the late Dick Gallagher. Parker's cabaret appearances include engagements at The Metropolitan Room, Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, Danny's, Eighty-Eights, Somethin' Jazz Club and guest appearances at Judy's. He was the lead male vocalist aboard The Silver Whisper and sailed to 38 countries, along the way also giving performances in Camogli, Italy and St. Petersburg, Russia. Parker appeared as John Denver in Bring Me John Denver (directed by Judy Norton of The Waltons fame) at the Granbury Opera House in Texas, where he delighted audiences and critics in a concert of John Denver songs. In New York City, he has sung roles with Chelsea Opera, Opera Slavica and Opera Manhattan. He has performed cabarets in DC, Maine, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia and on the high seas in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Baltics. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. $15 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
