NYC: ROXIE ROGERS "LOVE'S LOST & FOUND - AN EARLY VALENTINE"

Roxie Rogers celebrates the music of jazz and cabaret styles in her show "Love's Lost & Found - An Early Valentine" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 pm, featuring classic and contemporary composers, including the work of Francesca Blumenthal, Rupert Wates, and Jaz Dorsey. Roxie's style spans the gamut from torch songs, ballads, Broadway, and up tempo humorous, to serious jazz. She will be ccompanied by the fabulous Tom Nelson Trio. A native of Dallas, Texas, Roxie moved to Nashville ten years ago. She holds a B.F.A. In Theatre Arts, and has sung in bands since the age of 12 all over the U.S. and Europe. Having studied classical voice in Germany, her style includes elements of jazz, blues, rock, R&B, gospel, theatre, and country. She and her jazz band, "Breeze" were voted best band and vocalist by the Dallas Jazz News three years running. She began writing music 12 years ago while living and studying in Germany. A talented actress and costume designer, she has studied at The New Globe Theatre in London, has extensive acting experience in live theatre, film, music videos, and commercials, as well as having taught music, theatre, and dance to young people. She has performed regularly at the renowned Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, WSM radio, and her tunes "Jump Start' and "Coupe de Ville" were featured on national PBS radio on the Car Talk show. "Coupe de Ville" also recently took top honors at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. She plays guitar, autoharp and percussion, and is an avid golfer with a current handicap of 12. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
