NJ: ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY IN ASBURY PARK
Ann Hampton Callaway will appear on Wednesday, August 29th at 8:00 pm atTIM McLOONE'S SUPPER CLUB(1200 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ - 732-774-1400). A champion of the great American songbook, Ms. Callaway made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host, and producer. Ann is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny. Ms. Callaway is a Platinum Award-winning writer whose songs are featured on five of Barbra Streisand's recent CDs and who has collaborated with legendary composers such as Cole Porter, Carole King, and Barbara Carroll. Ann has appeared as a special guest performer with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops, and is featured at many Carnegie Hall tributes. She has performed with more than 25 of the world's top orchestras and big bands, and has performed for President Clinton in Washington, D.C., and at President Gorbachev's Youth Peace Summit in Moscow. She has enjoyed an extensive and celebrated recording career and has released 12 CDs to date. Ann has garnered fourteen awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs, two Backstage Bistro Awards, The 2005 Nightlife Award, the Johnny Mercer Songwriter Award and the Norman Vincent Peale Award for Positive Thinking.
