OPENS TONIGHT IN NYC: STEVE TYRELL WITH "I'LL TAKE ROMANCE"
THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) presents acclaimed vocalist Steve Tyrell back in an exclusive two-week spring engagement in the legendary New York venue from Tuesday through Saturday, May 15th through 26th with nightly at 8:45 pm plus additional performances on Fridays & Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Grammy Award-winning vocalist Steve Tyrell is truly a renaissance man. In his four and a half decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. Steve will celebrate the release of his newest CD "I'll Take Romance" (Concord Records), an homage to The Great American Songbook with tracks culled from several genres expressing the theme of romance. Featuring such gems as "That's All," "Taking a Chance On Love," "All of You" and the title track, Mr. Tyrell also covers a host of R&B classics, including the Etta James hits "At Last" and "Trust In Me;" Sam Cooke's "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons;" and Little Willie John's "Talk to Me." "I'll Take Romance" is a passionate song selection and a modern-day take on all things love. Steve will be supported by his big band led by Musical Director, Quinn Johnson. There is a $100 cover Tuesdays through Thursdays, $110 on Fridays & Saturdays.
