NYS: 10TH ANNUAL CABARET FESTIVAL IN LONG BEACH LI
Artists in Partnership (AIP), a non-profit cultural arts organization, will host its 10th Annual Cabaret Festival Wednesday through Sunday, May 16th through 20th at the LONG BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY (111 West Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY - 563-570-7500). All performances are free to the public. The festival will be a celebration of the cabaret genre honoring the Great American Songbook with performances by renowned local and New York City-based artists. WEDNESDAY, MAY 16th, 7:30 pm - "Why Cabaret and the American Songbook?". Susan James opens the festival with featured guest Anita Darian of Broadway and recording fame as they explore the unique contribution of the American Songbook as expressed in the intimacy of the cabaret experience with audio highlights from the past 10 years of festival artists.
