NYC: PHILIPPE QUINT IN CONCERT AT JOE'S PUB
Four-time Grammy nominee violinist Philippe Quint celebrates two major milestones with a concert at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE(425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Monday, April 23rd at 7:30 pm. He will announce the release of his latest album featuring music by Mendelssohn, Bruch, and Beethoven; plus the theatrical release of Downtown Express, a new independent film starring Philippe in the lead role opposite singer/songwriter Nellie McKay. Philippe's role marks the first time that a classical musician has been the lead in an American film. At Joe's Pub, he will perform music from the album and the film, which opens at The Quad Cinema in New York on April 20th. American violinist Philippe Quint is a multi-faceted artist whose wide range of interests has led to performances with major orchestras throughout the world at venues ranging from the Gewandhaus in Leipzig to Carnegie Hall in New York, his role in Downtown Express, and explorations of tango with his band The Quint Quintet. Philippe's live performances and interviews have been broadcast on television by CBS, CNN, ABC, BBC World News, NBC, Reuters, Bloomberg TV, as well as by radio stations nationwide including NPR, WNYC and WQXR. His recordings have received multiple "Editor's Choice" selections in Gramophone, The Strad, Strings, and the Daily Telegraph. There is a $20 cover.
