NYC: LAURIE VEGA THE JAZZ DIVA OF SPANISH HARLEM
Laurie Vega, the Jazz Diva of Spanish Harlem, will perform her show "Too Darn Hot!" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Friday, April 27th at 7:00 pm. Her music director is Frank Doyle. Laurie is a professionally trained vocalist specializing in jazz standards. She was born and raised in Spanish Harlem and graduated from the famed High School of Music & Art in New York City. She has performed throughout the city at many venues, including Don't Tell Mama, Dizzy's Club, The Metropolitan Room, Creole, Orbit, The Players Theatre, and more. In addition to performing in New York, Laurie spent seven years both in Naples and Orlando, Florida under the tutelage of composer, arranger, and conductor James E. Dale where she performed regularly at such places as the Pelican Bay Country Club, Jazz Club at CityWalk, the House of Blues, the Grand Bohemian Hotel, the Citrus Club, Heidi's Jazz Club, many "Jazz Under The Stars" concerts, benefits and private functions. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
