NYC: CAROLE DEMAS IN RETURN ENGAGEMENT AT LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE
Carole Demas, the original Sandy in Broadway's Grease and star of TV's The Magic Garden returns with her acclaimed sellout show "Summer Nights" to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Monday, October 17th at 7:00 pm. The singing actress presents eclectic music from an eclectic life: Broadway, Classic Pop, Rock, Great American Songbook and more. The program is directed by Charles Repole, and also features performances by Music Director Ian Herman (piano), Sean Harkness (guitar), special guest performers, Ilene Kristen and Josh Franklin plus a special segment with Magic Garden co-star, Paula Janis. Not your typical autobiography, "Summer Nights" is an unpredictable insider's glimpse into Demas' whirlwind career, from her early days as a contestant in the Miss Universe Pageant and her many regional theatre roles, to her creation of the iconic roles of "Sandy" in the Broadway blockbuster Grease, the title role in Stephen Schwartz's The Baker's Wife, her two years as Luisa in the NYC production of The Fantasticks and her starring role on TV's The Magic Garden, which ran for twelve years on WPIX- TV and affiliated stations and is considered the most successful regional show in the history of children's television.
