L.A.: CROONER DAVID JOHNSON COMES TO PALM DESERT

L.A.: CROONER DAVID JOHNSON COMES TO PALM DESERT

Classic crooner David Johnson happily headlines "Hooray For Love", a tuneful tribute to the Golden Songs of the Golden Age of the Movies at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, June 16th at 2:00 pm. Joel Baker will serve as musical director and accompany Mr. Johnson on piano. Some of these tunes are celebrated, some are obscure, but all are most definitely melodious. The show features the lilting and timeless music of such great composers as Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn and Harry Warren. These nifty numbers were first introduced on screen by the likes of movie stars Fred Astaire, Vic Damone, Tony Martin, Howard Keel, Lena Horne, Betty Grable and Dick Haymes. The performance is part of Les Michaels' Sunday matinee cabaret series, There is a $10 cover.
