NYC: RYAN O'CONNOR EATS HIS FEELINGS AT THE BEECHMAN
One of "Oprah's Chosen Ones", Ryan O'Connor, will perform his critically acclaimed one-man show Ryan O'Connor Eats His Feelings, on Mondays May 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd at 9:30 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). Each week O'Connor will interview Tony-nominated guests from the 2010-11 Broadway season. Recently finishing fourth in The Oprah Winfrey Network's "Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search For the Next TV Star," O'Connor was competing for the dream of having his own talk-show/variety show hybrid. Actor and singer Ryan O'Connor ("How I Met Your Mother," School of Rock, "American Dad"), brings this dynamic, hilarious and oddly touching musical journey of his experiences as a compulsive overeater to New York. Including songs by William Finn, Ani DiFranco, Katie Thompson, Scott Alan, Michael Arden, Gregory Nabours and Randy Blair, Ryan O'Connor Eats His Feelings is a one of a kind, out of the ordinary, honest, self-effacing, non-traditional cabaret. Written by O'Connor, the show features musical direction by Gregory Nabours, and will feature back-up vocalists Lucas Coatney and Jason Powell. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
