THE CABARET AT THE COLUMBIA CLUB (121 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN - 317-275-1169) presents Singing the Blues with critically acclaimed Jazz/Blues artist Catherine Russell on Friday, February 4th to benefit the Alzheimer's Research Project. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm with performance at 8:00 pm. This very special evening, is hosted by Doris Anne and Tim Sadler. Backed by a powerhouse quartet, Russell will perform music from her new release, Inside This Heart of Mine, which feature Blues gems from the 1920s to today. With her off-the-beaten-path song selections and vital interpretations bursting with soul and humor, Russell ranks as one of the greatest interpreters and performers of American popular song. Russell performance career includes Jazz and Blues festivals, in Jazz and Cabaret clubs, and premier venues such as The Kennedy Center and concerts on three concerts. Her recordings have hit Billboard and iTunes Jazz Charts and JazzWeek and Living Blues Radio Charts. She has also been a guest on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and NPR's "Fresh Air" and has performed with the likes of Paul Simon, Samantha Fox, Jackson Browne, Ricki Lee Jones and Diana Ross.
