L.A.: "AN EVENING WITH JEROME" WITH JACKIE GIBSON


"An Evening with Jerome" featuring Kern's Best Loved Songs will be presented on Friday & Saturday, February 25th & 26th at 9:00 pm at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 ). The show features vocalist Jackie Gibson, joined by Musical Director Steve Rawlins with John Hatton on Bass. Special Guest Star is David Johnson. Gibson has received critical acclaim for her jazz interpretations, with a voice compared favorably to singer's including Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. At a young age, Jackie Gibson's life was filled with music, having a father who sang at Hollywood piano bars, like the Villa Capri, and a mother who put her to bed with classical music. When she was 15, she became a part of the LA Folk Rock circuit, playing along side the likes of Joni Mitchell and Melanie, in such venues as The Troubadour and Ciro's. Jackie has since appeared on the stages of Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's, The MBar, Scarlet Tea Room, Stoney Point Piano Bar, Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, the Redlands Bowl, Barnsdall Park's Garden Theater, and the Kodak Theater. Los Angeles based composer/arranger/pianist Steve Rawlins has arranged music for the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, the Olympics and the Super Bowl as well as artists including: Benny Goodman, Bette Midler and Chaka Kahn. Crooner David Johnson specializes in singing songs from the Golden Age of the Movies on the cabaret circuit. He has done solo shows at Vitello's, Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, Moving Arts Theatre, The Paul Gleason Theatre in Hollywood. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum or dinner.
