NYC: MIRANDA ARTISTS CELEBRATE 15 YEARS OF MIRANDA MUSIC JANUARY 24th

NYC: MIRANDA ARTISTS CELEBRATE 15 YEARS OF MIRANDA MUSIC
MEMBER DISCOUNT: $5 OFF THE COVER

Members of the MIRANDA MUSIC (http://www.mirandamusic.com/ ) family come together on Monday, January 24th at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ). They will perform songs from MIRANDA'S eight current CDs and the two-plus CDs currently in the works, as well as favorite songs of the artists, plus a delightful surprise or two. Marcus Simeone, Kathleen France, Tracy Stark and Sean Harkness join forces to celebrate Miranda's 15 years in business and Miranda CEO Kitty Skrobela's 70 years in this world. Regrettably, the rest of the MIRANDA family, Karen Oberlin, Christopher Gines, Michael Ferreri and Benjamin Niemczyk cannot be with there for the show.

Miranda Music began life when piano bar favorite, the late Berri Blair, needed help to release her cassette "One Small Forever." Several years later Michael Ferreri was ready to make his first CD, and Berri was ready for her first, so Miranda incorporated and planning began. The first official event was a benefit for Stu Hamstra's Cabaret Hotline (before it was online and a just print publication) which was in need of funds for its next issue. Thereafter, typical cabaret hardships intervened, including Paul Skrobela's terminal illness and Michael's music director absconding with his advance. In Paul's last year, he oversaw all but the final manufacture of Berri's "Blame it on My Youth." Kitty Skrobela was bringing a copy to Danny's on the evening of Barbara Lea's birthday party when a singer named Karen Oberlin, unknown to Kitty at the time, sang a song for Barbara. The rest is history.

Miranda now proudly represents CDs by Berri Blair, Michael Ferreri, Karen Oberlin, Christopher Gines, John Wallowitch & Bertram Ross, and Marcus Simeone. More CDs are on the way, including Kathleen France's live recording of "The Book of Love"; Marcus's CD "Haunted," which features songwriters accompanying Marcus as he sings their songs; Tracy's recording of her own songs performed by some of her favorite singers. All CDs will be on sale after the show.

There will be a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. $10 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
