NYC: "IT'S NO CHESTNUTS!" WITH ADAM SHAPIRO
"It's No Chestnuts!", Adam Shapiro's unique, respectfully irreverent take on the "most wonderful time of the year," with nary a Christmas carol or standard in sight will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, December 17th; Saturday, December 18th; and Thursday, December 30th - all shows at 7:00 pm. Selections include songs by Stephen Schwartz & Alan Menken, Trey Parker & Matt Stone, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and the world premiere of the title tune by Barry Levitt & Peter Napolitano. The special feature of the evening will be a medley of songs from the 1962 television event MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL, with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Bob Merrill. The show is directed by Peter Napolitano with A. Michael Tilford as Musical Director. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
