FL: THE COLONY, PALM BEACH OPENS 10TH ANNUAL CABARET SEASON WITH AVERY SOMMERS
THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL(155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) launches it's Fall Cabaret Season with Broadway and concert hall mega-star Avery Sommers on Fridays & Saturdays, November 19th & 20th and 26th & 27th at 8:00 pm. Local favorite Avery Sommers is returning to The Colony Hotel for her fourth engagement since making her Royal Room debut in August 2008. She recently returned from NYC where she wowed the musically savvy crowd attending the closing night of the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 25th anniversary Cabaret Convention in Lincoln Center, and also headlined a knock-out run at The Metropolitan Room, one of Manhattan's finest cabarets. Avery starred on Broadway in the long running, critically acclaimed musicals Ain't Misbehavin' (where she replaced Nell Carter) and Showboat, and in two national tours: Chicago with Joel Grey and Chita Rivera and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann-Margret. A frequent co-star of Burt Reynolds (B.L. Stryker, The Man from Left Field), she also starred in Menopause, the Musical and as Bloody Mary in South Pacific. In addition, she produced and co-starred in the film Hiding Victoria with Anita Gillette. Last year, Avery released her powerhouse solo CD, You're Gonna Hear from Me. The cost for dinner and show is $85 per person and $45 for show only.
