NYC: YVONNE CONSTANT: "WHAT NOW? A TRIBUTE TO MIKE"

Yvonne Constant, born on the left bank of Paris, performs her latest show "What Now? A Tribute to Mike" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00 pm. Constant began her career as a ballet dancer, but because of her comedic flair and charismatic personality, the other dancers urged her to become a musical comedy performer instead. Yvonne was cast to play multiple roles for the Broadway production of "La Plume de Ma Tante" and won a Tony award. When she did "The Gay Life" with Barbara Cook, Yvonne received a New York Drama Critics Citation as on of the season's Most Promising Actresses. Because of her quick wit, dynamic personality, and ability to do repartee, Johnny Carson had Yvonne on his show a record 45 times! Richard Rodgers saw her on the Tonight Show and immediately chose her for a principal role in "No Strings". After "No Strings" Yvonne played the French au pair in the Broadway Comedy, "Come Live With Me". In the movies, Yvonne Constant is best remembered in Disney's "Monkeys, Go Home!" with Maurice Chevalier. More recently, she played the French chanteuse, Annette, in the television mini-series "Sins" with Joan Collins. In addition, she has narrated or dubbed over 20 French movies including the much acclaimed, "Parfait", and was also the voice of Simone de Bauvoir. In 2007, Yvonne was one of the stars in the City Center rival of "Follies" in New York. Yvonne's memorable one woman show, "Yvonne Constant Sings Yves Montand" was standing room only in theatres and concert halls in New York, Chicago, and Washington DC. Yvonne has sung in cabarets, hotels, and supper clubs in Europe and many American Cities to consistently outstanding reviews. In recent years Yvonne has performed in several cabaret venues in the New York Metropolitan area including The Reprise Room, Danny's Skylight Room, The National Arts Club and the critically acclaimed Metropolitan Room where she appears regularly always with constantly updated shows. Her music director since 2006 has been the multi faceted Russ Kassoff. Yvonne was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government, and she maintains residences in both New York and Paris. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: YEHONATAN COHEN - CD RELEASE SHOW

Yehonatan Cohen, an Israeli Jazz artist, based in NYC, will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, March 18th at 9:30 pm. His music is a rare combination of influences that includes the Israeli and Middle Eastern beautiful Harmonies and melodies, combined with the rough and intense sound of the modern Jazz scene in NYC.This special performance will premiere the materials from his new and first album, presenting his new band and new compositions to the world for the very first time. Yehonatan Cohen is an up-and coming saxophonist in the international world of jazz who dedicates his life to express himself through his music in the most creative and pure way. His music combines a variety of influences from diverse cultures and backgrounds that creates a unique and universal fusion. Yehonatan was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1989. He started playing the trumpet when he was just 10 years old in his elementary school orchestra. 6 months later, he transferred to study at the prestigious Ra'anana Music Center where he played as their lead trumpeter and soloist, performing in different venues and festivals across the city and around the world. At the age of 14, Yehonatan got accepted into the world-renowned jazz program at the Thelma-Yellin High School of the Arts in Givatayim, where he studied with Israel's top teachers and musicians. During his intensive studies, he started to gravitate toward the art of playing the saxophone, which later became his main instrument. Throughout his high school career, he played in several bands that made a major impact in the jazz community of Israel. He played as a saxophonist in a selected group of students who flew to South Africa to perform at the S.I.A.J.E. jazz festival. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY" 

Ben Rimalower returns with his new play "Bad With Money" to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) running on Wednesdays at 9:30 pm. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BEN VEREEN STEPPIN' OUT AT 54 BELOW

Ben Vereen returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday through Saturday, March 17th through 21st at 7:00 pm for five unforgettable evening of song and story. The Broadway legend returns with his acclaimed show 'Steppin' Out', including new songs! A Tony and Drama Desk Award winner for his renowned performance in Bob Fosse's Pippin, Mr. Vereen's Broadway credits include: Wicked, I'm Not Rappaport, Chicago, Hair, Fosse, Jelly's Last Jam, Jesus Christ Superstar, and A Christmas Carol. In 2010, Ben completed a successful run in the world premiere of Fetch Clay, Make Man, directed by Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) at the McCarter Theatre. Film: Idlewild, All That Jazz, Sweet Charity, Funny Lady (Golden Globe nomination), Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Once Upon a Forest. Television: The legendary television miniseries "Roots," "How I Met Your Mother" (recurring), "Grey's Anatomy" (Prism Award), Tyler Perry's "House of Payne," "Law and Order: Criminal Intent," Hallmark's "An Accidental Friendship" (NAACP nomination), "Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, Louis Armstrong" - "Chicago Style," "Ellis Island" (Golden Globe Nomination), Anne Rice's "Feast of All Saints," "Zoobilee Zoo," and "Star Trek - The Next Generation." Ben's most recent feature film was Paramount Studios' Top Five starring Chris Rock and is co-starring with Richard Gere in the upcoming Time Out Of Mind. There is a $50-$105 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: PAUL IACONO AT 54 BELOW

Star of G.B.F., FAME, and MTV's "The Hard Times Of RJ Berger," Paul Iacono returns to the New York cabaret scene in his debut musical memoir, Where's The F*cking Kid? at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Wednesdays, March 11th & 18th at 9:30 pm. From being discovered on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" at age eight to surviving leukemia and Elaine Stritch, Paul sends up his former child actor days and the larger-than-life women who made him the bawdy little monster he is today. Reunited onstage with Grammy & Emmy Award-winning music director John McDaniel ("The Rosie O'Donnell Show," Annie Get Your Gun, Grease) and directed by Aaron Mark (Another Medea, Patti Issues), Paul swings through unconventional adolescence with painfully hilarious results. There is a $30-$75 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

PALM BEACH, FL: STEVE TYRELL AT THE ROYAL ROOM

Steve Tyrell will perform at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Tuesday through Saturday, March 10th through 21st at 8:00 pm. Steve Tyrell is returning for his seventh engagement in the Royal Room, where he made his debut in January 2008. The Grammy Award-winning vocalist is truly a renaissance man. In his four and a half decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. With his breakthrough performances in Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride II, Tyrell reinvented and re-popularized classic pop standards for a modern-day audience. His hits "The Way You Look Tonight," "The Simple Life," "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street," have launched thousands of weddings and millions of romances. He's held top positions at Standards, Swing, and Big Band outlets with a devoted following at key Adult Contemporary Radio. He has appeared with The Boston Pops, twice with The New York Pops, The Nashville Symphony, and The Houston Symphony on several occasions. At the request of the Sinatra family and Quincy Jones, Tyrell was the featured performer with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at their season opening concert in which Frank Sinatra was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame. Also at the request of the Sinatra family, he reprised that performance this past May at Carnegie Hall. This is one of the rare times the family has reached into the vault of original Sinatra arrangements to share them with another artist. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed in 36 years. Now Steve has become a fixture in New York and has played the Cafe Carlyle to record crowds for the last 6 years. As an artist, all 7 of his American Standards albums have achieved top 5 status on Billboard's Jazz charts, and his first album "A New Standard" was amongst the best selling jazz albums for over five years. For each guest there will be a $110 cover charge Tuesday through Thursday, and a $125 cover charge on Friday Saturday, plus a $20 minimum for food and beverage; $130 cover charge for premium seating on Tuesday through Thursday and $145 on Friday and Saturday.
