NYC: MELINDA HUGHES 'WEIMAR AND BACK'

Accompanied by a jazz trio, Melinda's 'Weimar and Back' show at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - http://www.metropolitanroom.com/ ) on Wednesday, December 3rd at 9:30 pm takes a then-and-now journey through Weimar Cabaret, bringing alive songs by Kurt Weil, Mischa Spolianksy, and Friedrich Hollaender, wittily juxtaposed with newly written songs. With her witty British humor and cleverly crafted satire, the classically trained singer Melinda Hughes has shot to the forefront of London's cabaret scene. She formed Kiss & Tell Cabaret with co-writer and composer Jeremy Limb. Together they have performed at Cadogan Hall, Pizza on the Park, The Pheasantry, Hay Literary Festival, Crazy Coqs and The Assembly Rooms as part of The Edinburgh Fringe. Her CD Smoke and Noise (Nimbus) featuring songs by Spolianksy and Kiss & Tell received rave reviews in the UK and US. As an Opera singer Hughes toured as a soloist with Andre Rieu for three years and has sung all the major lyric soprano roles including Aida this summer with Dorset Opera. NYC: VICKIE & NICKIE'S HOLIDAY SLEIGH RIDE!

The well-known, hilarious musical comedy sister duo, Vickie & Nickie, are returning to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) with their seasonal show, Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride on Wednesday December 3rd at 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 13th at 5:00 pm. During this celebration of the holiday season "Minnesota-style", the multi instrumental, singing housewife sisters will entertain with sidesplitting interpretations of your favorite holiday songs, wacky original tunes, fun family stories, improv and audience participation. Created, written and performed by real life sisters Lisa and Lori Brigantino, the fast talking Minnesota mom characters come to you straight from their prison circuit tour to celebrate the season all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, ukuleles, percussion and more! The Brigantino sisters have performed several Vickie and Nickie shows to date to rave reviews. Lisa and Lori Brigantino have been performing together musically since they were children. Lori (Vickie) holds a major in theatre and a minor in music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio 2 year Meisner Actor Training Program. She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd. Lori also performs regularly with Lisa at her singer/songwriter gigs in NYC and beyond. Lisa (Nickie) is an award winning classically trained composer, songwriter and professional musician with a Master of Music in music composition & music theory from SUNY Fredonia. She writes for dance, theater, film and TV. Lisa was an original member of the all girl Led Zeppelin tribute band, Lez Zeppelin (bass, keyboards, mandolin), and toured internationally with the band, playing A list venues and festivals around the world including headlining Bonnaroo. In 2007, the band released its self-titled debut CD, recorded and produced by legendary engineer and producer, Eddie Kramer. Lisa left Lez Zeppelin in 2009 to focus on her own original music. Recent past performance include the main stage at Dixon Place in NYC June 2012 with their show, Inside Vickie & Nickie, and December 2011 with a successful premier of Vickie & Nickie's Holiday Sleigh Ride. The creative sister duo have written and performed 10 full length Vickie & Nickie shows to date including: Inside Vickie & Nickie at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY where they also brought their two set show Vickie & Nickie's Sizzlin' Summer Spectacular and The Best of Vickie & Nickie, 'Tis The Season With Vickie & Nickie which played to sold out houses at Don't Tell Mama, and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose's Turn and The Duplex. NYC: ON KENTUCKY AVENUE RETURNS TO STAGE 72

'On Kentucky Avenue', The Atlantic City Club Harlem Revue, returns to STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Tuesdays, December 2nd & 9th, and Wednesday December 3rd, all shows at 7:00 pm. On Kentucky Avenue stars Tony Nominee, Brenda Braxton and the legendary Jenny Douglas (Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker) and Broadway and recording artist, Ty Stephens (Sophisticated Ladies). The show also features Jeree Wade as 'Damita Jo' and Lee Summers (Original Dreamgirls) as comedian 'Slappy Black'. On Kentucky Avenue: The Atlantic City Club Harlem Revue is an homage to the now defunct historical "Club Harlem." Club Harlem was an Atlantic City venue, which hosted all "the greats" such as Nancy Wilson, Sammy Davis, Jr., Ella Fitzgerald and many more. The cast also includes: Hollie Wright, Donna Clark, Olutayo Bosede, Brian Davis, Gregory J. Hanks, Mindy Haywood, Cassandra Palacio and Renee Ternier. The band is led by Musical Director/Pianist Frank Owens (Show Time at the Apollo); Wilbur Bascomb on Bass; David Silliman on Drums and Richard Cummings Jr. conducting and on Synthesizer. On Kentucky Avenue was co-written and choreographed by Ty Stephens; co-written and directed by Adam Wade (The Color Purple) and features original music by Ty Stephens, Frank Owens, Branice McKenzie, Wilbur Bascomb, Adam Wade and Jeree Wade. NYC: 54 BELOW CELEBRATES FRANK WILDHORN

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) will present a week in celebration of Frank Wildhorn, the acclaimed composer of Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Dracula, Bonnie & Clyde, Wonderland, and Victor/Victoria. Shows are scheduled for Tuesday & Wednesday, December 2nd & 3rd at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, December 5th & 6th with performances at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Over the past two decades, Frank Wildhorn has given the world timeless stories and countless classics set to soaring scores including eight Broadway shows, twenty original international shows, and almost 100 million records sold of his songs. Frank is one of this generation's most important songwriters. It will be a week of Broadway's best singers, a reunion of one of Frank's Broadway shows, and songs from a catalog that goes from Whitney Houston to Julie Andrews, from Hootie and the Blowfish to Johnny Mathis, and from Sammy Davis, Jr. to The Moody Blues. NYC: STEVE TYRELL AT THE CAFE CARLYLE THROUGH DECEMBER 31st

Steve Tyrell returns for this annual Holiday season performances at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, November 25th through December 31st (no show December 25th) at 8:45 pm with additional late shows on Friday & Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Grammy Award-winning vocalist Steve Tyrell is truly a renaissance man. In over four decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed for 36 years. In 2013 Tyrell's contract was extended through his 11th season, starting a new Carlyle legacy that now also includes performances in May.
