NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200 - http://www.59e59.org/) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE(313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: STEVEN CHERA - A VINTAGE STYLE ALL HIS OWN

Steven Chera, a singer/song stylist of traditional pop, jazz, & easy listening, brings his show 'A Vintage Style All His Own' From the Standards to Early Rock 'n Roll to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00 pm. Over his life-long career as a singer he has developed an eclectic range of shows featuring music from the 1930s/1940s jazz standards, 1950s rock, to the swinging hits of the 1960s & 70s. Singing since the age of 12, his first public performance was his own rendition of Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" sung at a community event that gave the audience chills. The Brooklyn born Chera spent his early years listening and studying music legends like Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin,Frank Sinatra and of course Elvis Presley. Even though he has responsibilities of working in the family retail business he never stopped pursuing music. Lately Steven has been working on his NEW album "Smile". The title song "Smile" is a classic composed by Charlie Chalpin and made famous by the great Nat King Cole. Steven also does Mr. Cole's "Mona Lisa", another all time classic. He will also be performing "All The Way" and "Birth of The Blues" both made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles's "Georgia on My Mind", and "Hallelujah I Just Love Here So". There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ELLYN HARRIS: "BACK TO YOU" AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Ellyn Harris will perform her show 'Back T You' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, November 5th at 9:30 pm. Ellyn is a pop singer who started her career as a teenager and signed with the William Morris Agency at 18 years old. Performing in TV commercials and shows, she joined SAG-AFTRA and Equity. With a diverse career - from touring with multi- platinum selling recording artist, Dan Hartman, singing the Alka Seltzer "plop plop fizz fizz" commercial, performing at an Emmy Awards dinner, touring with her own rock band, performing in off-Broadway shows and summer stock, opening act for Rodney Dangerfield (held over several times) - to performing her top charting dance music songs on Megatone Records for thousands of people. Ellyn was nominated for Best New Artist at dance music's Hi-NRG Music Awards. In her show Ellyn performs songs from the 70's through the present - with her own intimate twist, sprinkled with her original songs. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: "HA!" THE MUSICAL AT STAGE 72

'Ha! The Musical returns to STAGE 72(158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) for 3 nights in November: Wednesday, the 5th and Saturday the 8th at 9:30 pm and & Sunday, the 9th at 7:30 pm. 'Ha! The Musical' is a musical comedy hybrid exploring the good, the bad, the ugly and even the funny of standup comedians. Exploring the menagerie of personalities and comedic archetypes, "HA!" guides onethrough the world of a stand up and goes behind the curtain and beyond the spotlight into the subconscious id of what makes these eccentric, off-center, and at times even tortured, brilliant minds tick. NYC: PATTI LUPONE - FAR AWAY PLACES PART TWO 

Two-time Tony Award winner and 54 Below favorite Patti LuPone returns to 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday through Thursday, November 3rd through 6th; Saturday, November 8th; Monday through Saturday, November 10th through 15th, all shows at 7:00 pm; There is an additional show added on Saturday, November 15th at 9:30 pm. She will present 'Part Two of Far Away Places', the show which she premiered to critical acclaim when 54 Below opened in June 2012. In this continuation of the show (which will include a few encores from the landmark Part One) she further explores her wanderlust, performing songs by an eclectic group of songwriters including Irving Caesar, Billy Joel, David Yazbek, Johnny Mercer and Kris Kristofferson. There is an $85-$160 cover plus a $30 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: ANDREA FRIERSON: ME & ELLA

Broadway songstress Andrea Frierson will present 'Me & Ella' at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, November 5th at 9:30 pm. In this love letter to the First Lady of song, Andrea seamlessly weaves her unique world of opera singing parents, Negro League pitchers, Bronx beauty shops and 1960's television with Ella Fitzgerald's meteoric rise from young band singer to American icon. Celebrating the timeless melodies and sparkling lyrics that made Ella great, Andrea's brilliant, genre-defying vocals backed by a jazzy trio, led by the incomparable Ron Abel, makes this is a 54 Below debut that you won't want to miss! Helen Hayes award-winner Andrea Frierson has performed leading roles in numerous Broadway productions, including The Lion King (Rafiki), Once on This Island (Erzulie, Goddess of Love, original cast), Marie Christine with Audra McDonald at Lincoln Center Theater, Bring in 'Da Noise/Funk ('Da Singer), For Colored Girls... (original Broadway production), and A Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge's Mother, original cast) at Madison Square Garden. Andrea is a former Dramatist Guild Fellow, as well as a Parsons' Fund Award winner (Library of Congress) for her musical, Soon of a Mornin', about the quilters of Gee's Bend, Alabama, which premiered in the NYMF Festival as an invited show. She is currently working on an illustrated memoir entitled How NOT to Fall Off a Broadway Stage. There is a $25-$55 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: JOHN PIZZARELLI & JESSICA MOLASKEY AT THE CAFE

The acclaimed husband-wife jazz duo of John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey return to THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) for a 4-week run on Tuesday, October 28th through Saturday, November 22nd at 8:45 pm, with a late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Their new show is called 'Grown Up Songs' and features songs by Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Mercer, Paul McCartney, Alan Jay Lerner, Adam Guettel, Billy Joel and more. They will be joined by a band including Kevin Kanner on drums, Martin Pizzarelli on double bass and Konrad Paszkudzki on piano. As always, John Pizzarelli will play
