NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200 - http://www.59e59.org/) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE(313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Eric Comstock continues his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SUSAN WINTER, "A WOMAN FOR ALL SEASONS."

Susan Winter will be returning to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) this fall with a new show, titled Susan Winter, "A Woman for All Seasons." Performances are scheduled for Sunday, September 21st; Tuesday, October 7th; Tuesday, November 4th; and Monday, December 8th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Susan will be singing some of her latest favorite songs set to fabulous Tedd Firth arrangements, as she tells stories of coming to terms with ... well, coming to terms. Call for cover/minimum information. 

NYC: PATTI LUPONE - FAR AWAY PLACES PART TWO 

Two-time Tony Award winner and 54 Below favorite Patti LuPone returns to 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday through Thursday, November 3rd through 6th; Saturday, November 8th; Monday through Saturday, November 10th through 15th, all shows at 7:00 pm; There is an additional show added on Saturday, November 15th at 9:30 pm. She will present 'Part Two of Far Away Places', the show which she premiered to critical acclaim when 54 Below opened in June 2012. In this continuation of the show (which will include a few encores from the landmark Part One) she further explores her wanderlust, performing songs by an eclectic group of songwriters including Irving Caesar, Billy Joel, David Yazbek, Johnny Mercer and Kris Kristofferson. There is an $85-$160 cover plus a $30 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: VANISHING POINT WITH KATIE THOMPSON & MORE

Three of New York's best actress-singers - Farah Alvin (Marvelous Wonderettes, I Love You Because), Kate Shindle (Wonderland, Cabaret) and Katie Thompson (Giant, Pump Boys & Dinettes) team up on Tuesday, November 4th at 9:30 pm at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551). They will appear as three iconic women in selections from Vanishing Point, a new musical by Rob Hartmann, Liv Cummins & Scott Keys. Author Agatha Christie vanished for eleven days in 1926; that same year, evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson vanished for three weeks. Amelia Earhart disappeared during her 1937 round-the-world flight. Amelia was never seen again; Agatha and Aimee never spoke of what happened during their disappearances. Vanishing Point brings the three together as they disappear from the world and decide when - or if - they want to return. Farah Alvin (as Agatha Christie), Kate Shindle (as Amelia Earhart) and Katie Thompson (as Aimee Semple McPherson) present selections from this powerhouse three-woman musical, with music direction by Gillian Berkowitz. Vanishing Point has been seen across the country, including productions in Chicago, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. The show had its international premiere at Teatro Lara in Madrid, Spain, in July. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
