NYC: JOSEF HENRY AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Josef Henry will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, April 19th at 4:00pm. Josef has been playing guitar and writing music since he was eight years old. With some minor training, Josef began teaching himself to play his favorite songs. Soon after, Josef developed a knack for writing his own material. With heavy influences in folk and indie music, Josef's songs are catchy and thoughtful tunes comparable to Elliott Smith and Bob Dylan. Capturing a balance between dark humor and sobering honesty, Josef's music is both an appreciation and reflection of the life he has lived and the one that lies ahead. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SALLY & DAVID SAYH AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

The husband & wife team of Sally & David Sayh will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, April 18th at 9:30 pm. Sally Sayh is a native Californian who's been singing since childhood. Encouraged by friends and family to take the plunge, she made a seamless transition to singing professionally several years ago. Her counterpart, husband David Sayh, has been performing stand-up comedy for over thirty years with numerous television appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as well as Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas and Dinah Shore. A native of New York, he reminisces about commonly shared experiences while growing up, attending public school and coping with the vicissitudes of life in The Bronx. They also share the stage doing comedy sketches together as a team, discussing aspects of their lives such as being married 38 years - not necessarily to each other. Sally & David Sayh will be performing with The Keith Ingham Trio. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CHICKEN-FRIED CICCONE: A TWANGY TRUE TALE OF TRANSFORMATION

'Chicken-Fried Ciccone: A Twangy True Tale Of Transformation' will be performed at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, April 18th at 6:30 pm. Armed with an acoustic guitar, actor-playwright J. Stephen Brantley reveals how he got from junkie to functional with a little help from the queen of reinvention. Chicken-Fried Ciccone is one man's journey to heroin and back, set to countrified covers of new and classic Madge. Obie-winning master of the one-man-show David Drake directs.
