LOS ANGELES: THE GARDENIA PRESENTS JODY JARESS

Jody Jaress will appear atTHE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday, April 18th at 9:00 pm. Jody Jaress has made hundreds of appearances on stage, film, and television, along the way garnering Best Actress Awards for her theatrical roles in Veronica's Room, Equus, and The Gingerbread Lady. She has had roles in the films Charlie Wilson's War, Hollywoodland, and Chinaman's Chance, and in the new indie film Chain Link, which was accorded "Best Picture" designation at the Monaco Film Festival. As a singer and dancer at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, she opened for some of the great headliners of all time, including Harry Belafonte, The Ink Spots, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, Dinah Shore, and Melissa Manchester. She is a featured singer with "More Souls of Jazz." Her sultry charisma combines with a keen jazz sense to produce a sophisticated cabaret show for grownups, and she is fast becoming a Gardenia favorite. Call for cover/minimum information.

SAN FRANCISCO: PETER WHITE AT YOSHI'S

Prolific contemporary jazz guitarist Peter White will perform at YOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Friday & Saturday, April 18th & 19th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Over the years, Peter White has maintained a reputation as one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists on the contemporary jazz landscape. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy, he combines elements of jazz, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience. There is a $22-$29 cover.

SAN FRANCISCO: MEG MACKAY & BILLY PHILADELPHIA AT SOCIETY CABARET

"Two Of A Kind" starring Meg Mackay and Billy Philadelphia will be presented at SOCIETY CABARET AT THE HOTEL REX (562 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 - 800-982-2787) on Friday & Saturday, April 18th & 19th at 8:00 pm. Meg Mackay and Billy Philadelphia have been making music together for 25 years. Bay Area audiences have loved Meg's sultry contralto voice and Billy's lively piano playing. "Two of a Kind" includes songs from Broadway (Some People, I'm Still Here), film (The Tender Trap, Two For The Road) and the Great American Songbook (When I Fall In Love, All The Way). SAN FRANCISCO: BROADWAY & WEST END STAR SIERRA BOGGESS AT FEINSTEIN'S

After a sold-out engagement in January 2014, Broadway and West End star, Sierra Boggess, returns toFEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) for three performances only: Thursday & Friday, April 17th & 18th at 8:00 pm, and Saturday, April 19th at 7:00 pm. Broadway knows her as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera and as aspiring opera star Sharon Graham in Master Class. London knows her for her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Love Never Dies and as Fantine in Les Miserables. Now, San Francisco audiences will, once again, see a brand new side of this Drama Desk and Olivier Award-nominated actress as she brings back her acclaimed one-woman show, Awakening. One of Broadway's most promising new talents, audiences can expect a range of tunes from songwriters both new and old, and vocals that stretch from the sublime to the divine. Boggess will be joined on-stage by Summer Boggess on cello and Brian Hertz (Musical Director) on piano. An album of Awakening - recorded in August 2013 at 54 Below in New York City - will be available for purchase that evening. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
