NYC: SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH WITH GABRIELLE STRAVELLI

Bistro Award winning vocalist, Gabrielle Stravelli, returns with her Sunday Jazz Brunch on August 11th at LE PESCADEUX (90 Thompson Street, NYC - 212-966-0021), a French restaurant in the heart of Soho. They will play three sets from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. She will be joined by Saul Rubin on guitar and Pat O'Leary on bass in this charming boite that offers a great, well-priced menu and cozy atmosphere. Award-winning vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal following through her unique take on material from the new American songbook as well as classic standards by artists as varied as Pink Floyd and Duke Ellington, Dolly Parton and Johnny Mercer. A trained actor, Gabrielle has a soulful sensitivity for the story in the lyric. Gabrielle has performed on stages from Amsterdam to New York including Carnegie Hall, Iridium Jazz Club, Birdland, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Reservations are strongly suggested. NYC: BLUE NOTE SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH NICOLE HENRY

Jazz vocalist Nicole Henry will grace the stage at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Sundays in November for their famed Sunday Brunch shows, starting at 11:30 am. Showtime is 12:30 pm. Nicole Henry has firmly established herself as one of the most acclaimed entertainers in jazz. Her powerfully expressive voice and her soulful, sophisticated and uplifting energy has earned her three top 10 albums. Adding to her vocal talents, Nicole's beauty and on-stage rapport combines confidence and sincerity, confirming her as an all-around beguiling performer to audiences in over 15 countries. Henry showcases her diversity and skills as a performer and refined interpreter on her January 29, 2013 release, SO GOOD, SO RIGHT: NICOLE HENRY LIVE. The 13-track live album, which was recorded at Henry's sold-out performances at Feinstein's in NYC in May 2012, showcases her soulful, inspired interpretations of some of her favorite classic hits of the 70's from iconic artists including Bill Withers, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, The Commodores and Gladys Knight. $29.50 cover includes brunch, music and a drink.

TORONTO: "A MONTH OF SUNDAYS" BRUNCH WITH MARCUS NANCE

Jazz vocalist Marcus Nance will perform at the weekly "A MONTH OF SUNDAYS" BRUNCH shows at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299). Music starts at 12:30 pm. The theme is "Come Sunday: Songs of my people" featuring many special guests. Marcus Nance has captivated audiences across Canada and the United States with his magnetic stage presence and lustrous bass-baritone voice. He is equally at home in theatre, opera and cabaret. Described by the New York Times as "a thrilling bass baritone", he has recently been seen as Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway at the La Jolla Playhouse and at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. While in New York he also performed his cabaret series "Marcus Nance and Friends" at the Metropolitan Room. Marcus Nance has performed in Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme on Broadway; in Kismet and Of Thee I Sing for New York City Center Encores!; Four Saints in Three Acts for Chicago Opera Theatre; Beauty and the Beast for both the Grand and Western Canadian Theaters; Cinderella for New York City Opera; Porgy and Bess with the Toronto Symphony; The Producers film; and many years as an artist with the Stratford and Shaw Festivals.
