BOSTON TONIGHT: JUST JAZZ, JUST JAZZ, ROUND II WITH STANLEY SAGOV & BAND
Celebrate spring with a night of hot and cool jazz at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Saturday, May 4th with shows at with shows at 7:30 & 10:00 pm. featuring jazz keyboardist and composer Dr. Stanley Sagov and his Remembering the Future Jazz Band (John Lockwood on acoustic bass, Bob Gullotti on drums, Robert Douglas Gay on alto sax, Mike Peipman on trumpet, Stan Strickland on sax, flute and vocals). Special Guest vocalist will be Wannetta Jackson. Stanley Sagov is a dazzling jazz pianist and composer from Capetown South Africa who is skilled on a number of musical instruments and who is also skilled with surgical instruments, as he simultaneously has a full time career as a medical doctor. He constantly amazes his colleagues in both music and in medicine with his ability to lead such an intense dual life both as a physician and as a musician. The Remembering the Future Jazz Band was formed in 2009 and its music features a heady mix of high-powered jazz standards, South African music seasoned with jazz flavors and Stanley's own original tunes. There is a $30 (7:30 pm) $25 (10:00 pm) cover.
