Singing, dancing and hilarity ensues! This newly revised production will feature original cast members Chad Ryan, Luke Jones, and Nick Brennan with newcomer John De Los Santos. The production team features Jonathan Pennington (Director), Cisco Cardanez (Assistant Director/Stage Manager), John De Los Santos (Choreographer), Luke Jones and Nick Brennan (Set Design), Timothy Hart (Lighting), Jessa-Raye Court (Costumes) and Doug Repetti (Sound). NYC: HENRY WAGONS AT JOE'S PUB

Henry Wagons, unanimously lauded as one of Australia's greatest and most entertaining performers, will perform atJOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday, February 28th at 7:30 pm. Along with his rare charisma, he offers heavy doses of stomping outlaw rock and irresistible crooning. His live show is a performance like no other. In early 2013 Henry, and his band of misfits, crowded around a polished table in Nashville Tennessee above the factory floor of the United Records Pressing Plant. It was there they recorded a haunting, and at times humorous 'Upstairs at United' vinyl only release. This is the 9th volume in this strictly analogue series, immaculately curated by United Records, which will be for sale at this show. The album was recorded in a room with a rich history, which looks like its still recovering from a massive weekend in the mid 60s with many of the Motown legends to Wayne Newton to Hank Williams Jr. all having spent time soaking into the walls. Released in November 2013, Henry presents 7 songs on Upstairs at United, including an Elvis Presley and a Waylon Jennings cover; all intricately mixed and performed live, straight to 2 track tape, then pressed too heavy as hell 12" vinyl spinning at 45rpm, never having touched the digital realm. Having spent the last few years touring with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Justin Townes Earle, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero's, Calexico, Bill Callahan, Will Oldham, Okkervil River, John Hiatt and more it is safe to say that Wagons is a road-hardened formidable live act. There is a $12 cover.

NYC: JOE'S PUB PRESENTS THE HOT SARDINES

The Hot Sardines will perform at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday, March 28th at 9:30 pm. Take a blustery brass lineup, layer it over a rhythm section led by a Fats Waller-style stride-piano virtuoso, and tie the whole thing together with a magnetic, one-of-the-boys frontwoman whose voice recalls another era, and you have the Hot Sardines, an NYC outfit (with a tap dancer) that's been called consistently electrifying. ) The Sardine sound - wartime Paris via New Orleans, or the other way around - is steeped in the kind of music Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and Waller used to make: Straight-up, foot-stomping jazz. Pianist-bandleader Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and Paris-born singerMiz Elizabeth (who owe their collaboration to meeting via Craigslist) describe their band as "born in the 1920s, but raised in the '00s," reflecting a philosophy that hot jazz, dixieland and Tin Pan Alley tunes are all pop music, not historical artifact to be handled with kid gloves. In 2013 The Sardines headlined the TCM Classic Cruise, played Great GoogaMooga Festival, the Spiegeltent and the Blue Note Jazz festival, and continue at their regular haunt The Standard Hotel. There is a $15 cover.

Accompanied by her four-piece band, West will take San Francisco audiences on a musical journey through the ages. It wasn't until college that West began listening to jazz singers such as Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn. After college, West moved to San Francisco, unsure of what she wanted to do with her life. Buying old records from thrift shops, she studied them and then began singing classes. As she became more secure in her talent, she ventured into jam sessions, places where an open mike gave her a chance to perform before an audience. It was at one of these sessions that she met a pianist who would join her in the climb to her own musical identity and her musical success. His name was Ken Muir, and he continues as her accompanist today. West went on to study with Faith Winthrop, developing her unique tone and delivery. She learned how to sustain a note without a vibrato, which is now almost a Paula West trademark. Tickets are $35-$50 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: GREG LASWELL CD RELEASE AT JOE'S PUB

Greg Laswell will perform atJOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Thursday, February 27th at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. It's been seven years now since Greg Laswell released his debut album. Four records later, many things in his life have changed, including many of the songs themselves. Some changed from playing solo shows; phrasing and tempo became more and more improvised in songs like 'What a Day' and 'Embrace Me'. Other songs changed from simply from his desire to give the fans something new; 'Comes and Goes In Waves' and 'How the Day Sounds' were completely deconstructed and played on acoustic guitar with a cello. Others he changed on purpose, because the song meanings had changed over time; 'High and Low' is something that happened to him then, not something that is happening to him now, which allows him to sing it differently. So Greg took three weeks, and (re)recorded a few of the more popular songs off each record. Musically, he imposed two rules: no drums, and less than four tracks per song (allowing him to comp string sections onto one track). He also mixed in two newcomers to the gang. One is a song called 'December' and the second is a cover of 'It's a Wonderful Life' by Sparklehorse. There is a $20 cover.
