NYC: BABY JANE DEXTER RELEASES NEW CD AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA - MAY 20th & 21st

CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) presents Baby Jane Dexter as she celebrates the CD release of her latest show in her new show "It's Personal" on Friday & Saturday, May 20th & 21st at 8:00 pm. Dexter again teams up with her long-time musical director Ross Patterson. This year's MAC Lifetime Achievement Award winner dedicated her show "It's Personal!" to her personal friend Julie Wilson. The show and CD features compelling and profound songs from legends Cy Coleman, Peggy Lee and Cole Porters, to John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney, to Felix Cavalierre, Billy Roy and not a few surprises. The recipient of seven major MAC Awards and two Back Stage Bistro Awards, Dexter has performed at an endless array of major venues throughout the country, including Reno Sweeney, The Ballroom, Eighty Eight's, Blues Alley, The Kennedy Center and Weill Recital Hall. The Metropolitan Room has been her NY base of operations from the beginning - now she moves to the Lower East Side for these performances. There is a $25 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: "JUDY AND LIZA TOGETHER AGAIN!" AGAIN!!- MAY 21st

"Judy and Liza Together Again", starring internationally acclaimed entertainers Rick Skye and Tommy Femia, named "BEST DUO"in 2012 by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), are returning through the Spring Season at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788). Remaining performances are scheduled for Saturdays, May 21st and 28th - both shows at 8:00 pm. Musical Director: Ricky Ritzel (as Mort/Pappy). Teaming up for an evening of "Just POW!", these MAC and Bistro Award winning performers pull out all the stops, singing classic solo's, parodies, duets and just plain whooping and hollering by the greatest mother/ daughter team in show biz history. Tommy Femia is a 7 time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) Award for his brilliant portrayal of Judy Garland in "Judy Garland LIVE!", now in it's 20th season at Don't Tell Mama. He has also starred in "Whoop-de-doo", "I Will Come Back" and, most recently, "Norma Does Men". Rick Skye is a multi award winning performer, who has written a string of outrageous comic revues including "The Flip Side of Neil Sedaka" (Bistro Award winning performance), "MaCabaret - a tabloid fable", "The War of the Mama Roses", "It's Madame with an E" (performed with his indefatigable co-star - the one and only Madame), "Barbra and Liza LIVE!" (Leicester Theater and Dublin Theatre Festival) and the International hit - "A Slice O' Minnelli" (MAC Award - Best Impersonation) which has enjoyed successful season's in Covent Garden, at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End and at the Dublin Theatre Festival where he received the Award for "Best Achievement in Performance". NYC: MARIEANN MERINGOLO: BETWEEN YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW: THE SONGS OF ALAN & MARILYN BERGMAN

Award-winning recording artist and entertainer Marieann Meringolo brings her brand new show 'Between Yesterday and Tomorrow: The Songs of Alan & Marilyn Bergman' to FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for one night only, on Saturday, May 21st, at 9:30 pm. The theatrical concert will celebrate the 3-Time Academy Award winning songwriting team of Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Having written the lyrics for numerous television shows, films, and stage musicals, the Bergmans also wrote for some of the best artists of our time: Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Michael Jackson, Johnny Mathis, and most notably Barbra Streisand - who has recorded 64 of their songs. Directed by Will Nunziata, the show will keep your foot tapping, mind thinking, soul yearning, and heart soaring. Songs include The Way We Were, How Do You Keep The Music Playing, Where Do You Start, Nice 'n' Easy, That Face, The Windmills of Your Mind, It Might Be You, and many more. NYC: BARB JUNGR - SHELTER FROM THE STORM - MAY 20th - 21st

Barb Jungr: presents 'Shelter From the Storm', Songs of Hope for Troubled Times, featuring Laurence Hobgood on piano, at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday & Saturday, May 20th & 21st, at 7:00 pm. They will be joined on stage by Wilson Torres on percussion and Matt Clohesy on bass. Jungr is delighted to return to Joe's Pub with a major new album and live project, which marks her return to Linn Records Jazz Roster. Released in February 2016 in the UK and April in the USA, Shelter From The Storm sees Barb, regarded as one of the finest interpreters of popular song, join hands across the Atlantic in a collaboration with Laurence Hobgood, the American progressive and contemporary jazz piano virtuoso. This exciting new album project was recorded at Sear Sound Studio NYC with Calum Malcolm at the controls and is co-produced by Calum, Laurence and Barb. This is Hobgood's first major collaboration since his work with Kurt Elling (with whom he won a Grammy for the album, Dedicated To You: Kurt Elling Sings the Music of Coltrane and Hartman). Shelter From The Storm includes three original songs by Barb and Laurence, alongside material by Dylan, Cohen, Mitchell, Springsteen, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, Peter Gabriel and Bacharach and David. Barb is featured in an exciting new TV 6-part TV series; a collaboration between CPTV (Connecticut Public Television) and the Kate (the Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center). The first series is scheduled for spring 2016 and each show will highlight the work of bold contemporary performers who break the barriers of their genres. As well as an interview, Barb's edition features the live concert of Shelter From the Storm recorded at the Kate last September. LONG BEACH, NY: ARTISTS IN PARTNERSHIP PRESENTS 14TH ANNUAL CABARET FESTIVAL
HONORING THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK IN LONG ISLAND, NY
FEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

Artists in Partnership (AIP), a non-profit cultural arts organization, will host its 14th Annual Cabaret Festival on May 19th through 22nd at the LONG BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY (111 West Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY). The festival will be a celebration of the cabaret genre honoring the Great American Songbook. All performances are FREE to the public.

THIRD DAY EVENTS:

SATURDAY, MAY 21st, 2 pm– "CABARET CONVERSATIONS: INSIDE THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK"
Established artists demonstrate and comment on the cabaret genre. Susan James hosts the discussion with Rob Lester and artists Kristoffer Lowe, Marissa Mulder, Stacy Sullivan, and Jon Weber as they perform original songs and classics of the genre.

Jon Weber traces the development of jazz.

SATURDAY, MAY 21ST, 8:30 PM - "STRANGER IN A DREAM: ON THE AIR - SONGS OF MARIAN MCPARTLAND"

This event is made possible with public funds from the Long Beach Public Library and Nassau Country Legislator Denise Ford. The library is handicapped accessible, located two blocks from the LIRR station in Long Beach, a 50-minute train ride from New York City's Penn Station.
