On Monday, March 7th, at 7:30 pm, the Musical Mondays series, featuring members and friends on CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) continues with "American Bandstand" at VICTORY GARDENS BIOGRAPH THEATER (2433 North Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-871-3000). From 1952-1989, teenagers gathered to watch and dance to the Top 40 hits of their day by watching American Bandstand. Hosted by Dick Clark, American Bandstand shaped musical tastes for generations of teenagers. Tina Turner, Frankie Avalon, Jackson 5, ABBA, Donna Summer, Hall & Oats, Madonna ... every Top 40 artist of their day appeared on Bandstand. Celebrating this influential pop culture phenomenon is Cathy Glickman, Sophie Grimm, Scott Gryder, Kyle Husted, Kat Victoria, Melissa Young, With a Twist (Kevin Bishop, Steven Kimbrough, Paul Motando, Nick Sula), and CPS student Jacob Clinkscales.
