FINAL PERFORMANCE 2:00 PM TODAY
FINAL PERFORMANCE 2:00 PM TODAY
"Water From The Moon", a rock musical following a Grammy Award winning rock band from tech rehearsal to a Hollywood Bowl concert, will be presented at URBAN STAGES (259 West 30th Street, NYC - 866-811-4111) opened on Wednesday, January 6th and running Wednesdays through Sundays through January 17th. Showtimes are 7:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday; 2:00 & 7:00 pm on Saturdays; and 2:00 pm on Sundays. WATER FROM THE MOON is written by award winning Broadway and cabaret veteran Rosemary Loar and her husband Robert W. Atwood. In 2011. The Manhattan Musical Theatre Lab launched their musical Spoolie Girl, which was nominated for 11 "Best of the Fest" awards at the 2012 Midtown International Theatre Festival, including winner of the award for "Outstanding Music and Lyrics" and a nomination for "Best Production of a Musical." It is directed by Lisa Milinazzo, with music direction by John DiPinto and features Rosemary Loar, Rich Hebert (Les Miserables), Raissa Katona Bennett (Phantom Of The Opera) and Alicia Irving (Les Miserables), Andrea Dotto, Emily Briggs and Sadie Gracelynn Trigg. As the day unfolds Wildberry is confronted by a decision she must make. Will she say goodbye and make peace with her dying father? It is a heartwarming story of reconciliation between an Irish American daughter and her hard headed father; heartbreaking and absurdly humorous. Sometimes the only way to drown out your father's voice is to find your own. Reserve through Brown Paper Tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2471372

NYC: JAMES RICH & LAUREN STANFORD - JAZZ MEETS POP
James Rich and Lauren Stanford combine their talent for an afternoon of eclectic music at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, January 17th at 4:00 pm. Lauren will perform selections from her new show "Lost and Found." James will sing songs from his one-man concert. Jazz meets Pop meets today when James Rich brings his cross-over, cross-generational singing style back to the Metropolitan Room ... on his Birthday! James toured as a Backup Singer for Harry Belafonte, played the role of Benny in the First National Tour of "RENT" and performed in "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" on Broadway. Additionally, James has been a featured actor on network TV shows, soap operas, in national commercials, and was the front man for numerous bands in New York and Los Angeles. Lauren Stanford will preview her new cabaret called Lost and Found. The show explores the tangible and intangible things we lose and find in our lives. Through a wide genre of music from folk to broadway, we glimpse vignettes of discovery and loss. If nature abhors a vacuum, then nothing can be lost without something else being found. Lauren Stanford is a singing storyteller, known for living in the moment of the song. She was the 2013 MetroStar Competition winner, and was nominated for a 2015 MAC Award. This past Spring, she debuted at 54 Below with her solo show about Helen Morgan called More Than You Know. She also performed at The Town Hall at the annual Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention. Tadataka Unno (piano) and James Cammack (bass) will join James and Lauren for the single engagement that coincides with the APAP | NYC Conference weekend. There is a $24 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
